I Think We Keep 4 Running Backs

I think we keep 3.

I'm certain Blue stays....

I think we keep 2 of the rest......
Sanders, Williams,Mafah, Luepke.......

As of now i'll say its Sanders, Williams and Blue....

The tight end situation is gonna determine how many we keep.
Exactly, but you can get your production from other players if your tight ends aren't good enough you don't go deep there you go short and then you use your running backs and guys like Turpin and even Hunter as a hybrid h-back to make up for the short on tight ends...

As long as you can create targets and positive plays it doesn't matter where it comes from so if they're tight ends just aren't good enough heck I don't even care if they keep two we need a minimum of two but you're going to use Hunter as a hybrid there but you can get better positive plays at a better players therefore you keep the best players even if you have to short one position and go over on another...

I think you could legitimately roll into a season with just Ferguson and Schoonmaker as you're tight ends with Hunter as your full back slash tight end you know your H back and just for an emergency you keep a tight end on the practice squad and Just roll with it...

I really think they should try to create chunk yards in big plays from blue and turpin you know get them moving rolling motioning get em out to the outside and get up field there's a lot of ways you can be creative to get this offense moving and it doesn't have to come from your tight end...

I like Spann-Ford more than I like any of our depth RBs.

You liking a player's potential means nothing when it comes to why the coaches would put someone on the depth chart we're talking about putting the best players on the roster on the active game day roster and people taking roster spots you need to make sure it's the ones that can make the place that can give you positive yards not guys still in the process of proving their worth to the team I think you're missing the point just because he's popular in your mind doesn't mean he should get a pass on to the active roster he could be on the practice squad or he could be 3rd on the depth chart but not active on game day look we're just talking about trying to make sure we have the very best players to make the most plays on this team not who is potentially better...

Those who actually are better and we'll let the coaches choose that we're just spitting opinions out here spitballing as they say things we think might happen that doesn't mean they will but our tight ends have been underperforming their underwhelming and if you have some better players that maybe can come in you can go along at wide receiver or running back if you think you have a chance at more production..

It's a mix of both. If it was all about helping the team right now, Tyler Guyton and Mazi would probably both be out the door. You obviously need to have players ready to throw into the breach, but you also need to keep talented, cheap young players on your roster to develop, and hope they can realize that potential for you later.

Javonte Williams is cooked, Miles Sanders is cooked, Deuce never had enough talent. The benefit of keeping those guys on the active roster is marginal at best. On the other hand, I think BSF has TE1 type of ability, and just needs another season or two to put it together.

What you think? Spannford, Schoon and Ferg?
Probably. I also think Fant and Stephens could be in the mix.

I think they go shorter at TE end longer at RB positions because you could even get by with 5 WR and Blue as your WR 5. You may not need all those TEs and receivers and you'd have Luepke and Blue who can play two or more positions.

Either way, we've got some WCO weapons now.

I think we end up keeping 4 backs.

My best runners are Sanders, Blue, Williams and Mafah.

But special teams will also play a role in who makes the 53.

In an emergency, Mafah or Luepke, if he makes it, can play TE. I think we only end up keeping 4 TEs.
A diverse roster with a lot of call ups unless major production occurs.

IMO the 2 draft picks make the team.

That said keep at least 1 of the injured vet most likely to perform due to circumstances.

If the Cowboys are serious, Deuce is gone.

Luepke is luxury.

Hopefully no more injuries for this group.

He’s as good as gone. The only special teams he plays is as a returner and we have Turpin who’s the best in the league.
That does make it even less likely. He's not going to play coverage teams and someone like Mafah most likely will. Third back needs to play special teams as a returner or blocker and as a cover man on kickoffs.

I agree. Most NFL teams carry 3 backs, but I think we'll keep 4. This is clearly a backfield by committee situation, and I don't think that committee is going to resolve itself very neatly.

If anyone misses the cut, I think it's Sanders. Not a good pass blocker, not a good inside runner, and his outside running and receiving skills are somewhat redundant with Blue. He's a vet with much more NFL playbook experience than Blue, but that's his only leg up that I see. There is a decent chance that a 5th round rookie with like 3 months of NFL practice won't be ready, and if he isn't, Sanders will probably get a spot.

Williams is sadly washed as a runner, but he can still pass block, and Blue and Sanders really can't. And dead legs never stopped the Joneses from feeding Zeke 100 gut runs.

Luepke opens up I-formation wrinkles and is good at STs. That should be enough to earn his keep.
I think we keep one of the vets. One gets cut
