They definitely should be pretty good. Playing in a bad division helps.

Any better than that going forward will depend on hitting on draft picks the next year or two, especially on defense.

Only way that happens is if Osa is a beast. Otherwise no chance.

One player makes a difference on a unit. Replacing the worst player on a unit with possibly the best can make a vast difference.

But more importantly, how do they play as a unit? We have been very bad on defense for most of the past 10 years. Kiffen, Marinelli and Nolan are a huge part of the reason why. Good helping makes a huge difference. Let’s hope Quinn is better than his three predecessors.

There's no such thing as karma, but the rest I agree with. Let's see if Jerry was just saying he'll put Jimmy in the ROH because he was put on the spot. Jimmy deserves it without a doubt!

I think the surprise “X-Factor” for this season is the Cowboys Defense. I think it will be much better out of the gate and dominate the competition.

Heck yeah, brother! I too believe our defense will be ranked in the top 10. I think Quinn and Edwards makes our defense better just by adding them two. GO COWBOYS!!

we’ll be ok. Not a real contender. 8-9 win team. Come out thursday and shock the world and I’ll change my mind.

this is my feeling about this team. the defense is a big unknown to me. also if the offense starts out slow at the beginning of games the cowboys will be in trouble the whole game like last year. 8-9 wins seems about what think this teams ceiling is. if they win more that would really great season.

In some ways that might be good, for two reasons:

1. Two opening losses and teams will unconsciously or consciously discount Dallas.
2. This is a young team for the most part, starting 0-2 will be a wake up call for any players (and maybe even coaches/owners) who bought into the off season hype, and will make them work even harder.

Or who knows, it might tear the team apart. Hard to tell at this point...
