I thought Dan Snyder was supposed to be a good businessman?

While he does make lots of money with the skins, not everything he touches turns out as well. I thought this was interesting.

In 2005, Snyder created Red Zone, LLC for the purpose of buying up stock in Six Flags in an attempt to gain control of the company. Red Zone, LLC is made up almost entirely of Commanders employees including Vinnie Cerrato. Throughout 2005 they accumulated 10,921,300 shares of Six Flags and gained control of the company. Shortly thereafter the stock was worth $128,871,340 in December of 2005. Well, on Friday Six Flags' last trade of the day was 0.33. Thats right, 33 cents! That means their $128,871,340 investment is now worth a whopping $3,604,029. Talk about your bad investments!:laugh2:

This got me thinking. Most skins fans have wanted Vinnie Cerrato to be fired for years yet he gets promoted last offseason. Also, 2006 is right around when Snyder quit spending big money for free agents. I wonder if this Six Flags deal going soo far south in such a short time and having soo many Commanders employees involved is having some impact on the team and Snyder's decisions?

Snyder has had to declare bankruptcy in the past. It was before he ever owned the Commanders.

Cerrato apparently was on his radio program this week giving Jim Zorn the old vote of confidence and that the Commanders planned on bringing him back for next season. When you have to do that after just one season then things are not all good.
