I thought Miles Austin was going to be practicing by now?

I made a post similiar to this a few days ago...

He got hurt on the 4th! Reports said about a week he would be out. It's now been 11 days, and we have not heard a word about him or any updates whatsoever. I find that concerning personally.

Austin can be great at times, but he can't be depended on any longer. If this lingers all season, it is time to send him packing. He got paid and became a walking excuse not to play. Yes, I blame him for his injuries. Other players with hamstring problems have hired specialist and works year around on the problem.

I just hope he doesn't miss too many games during the season.

Not a game! Not the game, not, not a game. Not a game. Practice!

...not a game, not, not, not a game!

Who cares how long he is out in preseason, as long as he doesnt have any more stupid hamstring issues?

I wish I could make millions by doing resistance band work all year.

Agreed. He failed to do the only thing you have to do in the off-season. stay in shape.

Well if you were not injured all the time and worked harder maybe you could get that big contract and work with the resistance bands...instead you worked with the resistance bands before making it.

Geez...young people these days.

;)

Ouch! Dude, you have become quite the "negator" lately. Whats up? :)

Hamstring injuries are very tricky... You don't want a setback. I say let him sit and rehab another week.

Best I could find on an "update" and doesn't say much:

With a hamstring pull, I hope they keep him out as long as he needs to heal. No need rushing our starter during preseason so he ends up hurt.

My issue is him being out of football shape by the time he returns (which is how he injured it last year if I recall correctly)...

It has nothing to do with what kind of football shape he's in. Miles in an athlete. Some people are just more prone to these types of injuries than others--usually faster guys.

I'm not going to start bashing the guy because he got hurt. That's stupid.

So players are to blame for injuries now? That's a bit much isn't it? And what player works through their hamstring injury?

Players are to blame for not being in shape. If a player has constant hamstring issues, he needs to hire a specialist, or at least make some effort to reduce them. Miles has said that he wasn't in the best of shape last year. The injuries was a result of that. You don't think it is his fault?

It comes a time when you have to consider getting a full time WR. Austin is not helping the team on the bench with injuries. Actually he is hurting the team. He needs to find a way to prevent the hamstring injuries or move on. Let another team pay him to stay injured.
