I thought stats didn't matter?

Last year when Dak was putting up record breaking numbers people twisted themselves into knots telling us that the stats didn't matter and winning was all that mattered.. Now Dak is putting up mediocre numbers in wins and NOW we're worried about the numbers.. Yall are a strange bunch..
I'm as big a Dak fan as there is. I am not in the whinning boat today. I am celebrating a division (nearly) - clinching win, but...

Those discussing Dak today aren't hung up on his numbers for the most part from what I see. They are questioning his confidence, his leg, his / Kellen's audibles / playcalls. They are questioning his apparent hesitence and whether or not he is in his head. And all of those questions are fair.

Winning is great, it's a great way of covering a lot of warts. The warts are still there though.

At the start of the year everything was going well and he was doing better than he probably really is. Lately everything is not going as well and he is doing worse than he probably really is. Overall he is pretty much exactly where I would have had him at the start of the season. Dak is looking like a top 8 to 12 player. People need to stop with the top 5 MVP candidate stuff. People also need to stop with the Dak stinks stuff. Dak is a solid option as an NFL QB. It would be great to have someone better but we could do a heck of a lot worse.

Stats don't fully define a player, but they do matter to some degree.

Over time--not just short-term--they usually give a general gauge of where a player stands vs his peers.

But anyone who played the game knows that the players and coaches around you directly affect your floor and ceiling in both stats and won-loss record.

Something maybe wrong with his shoulder. He seems to scramble and run around ok. Was funny watching him run at first yesterday. Moore called a designed run and he slid as quick as he could to get down. He rolled out before that and I was yelling TAKE OFF WITH IT. So he had open field and crossed the line and “slipped” LOL, he was scared. But as the game went on he ran a few times and picked up a first down. Maybe if anything good came from that game was Dak gaining some confidence in running it. But either it’s a shoulder bothering him or something else is wrong. He could have lost that game very easily with his picks. And when your winning like that there was no reason to call that play. Or try that throw.

Seriously stop dude.. Have some humility and admit that Dak is playing like trash. His two interceptions were awful. Micha save his butt the whole game.
Your boy already got signed, you won already. How can we coach him up to perform better?
It can’t all be the running game or protection or receiver bad routes.

One of the hallmarks of good teams forever has been the ability to win without your "A" game. That is what we really should be taking away from these games. This team has just won two games against teams that were fighting for their playoff lives and in fact are still in the hunt while playing about C level offensively. Frankly that has me excited because I believe at some point the offense will click and if the defense continues to do what it has done the last two weeks this will be the best team in the NFL bar none. Dak clearly needs to work out whatever is going on with him.. but he is not on the field by himself.. I shall not panic.
