I understand why Adrian Peterson called Jerry Jones

Not near the same thing, ... Peterson has a "whipping room", with belts and whips, .. he stuffed one of the boys mouth with leaves so he couldn't scream out.

He left welts and open wounds on his back, butt, legs and genitals.

If he has done it to two sons, he has done it to the others.

Please, .. this is abuse.

Geez.

This story is just awful. It makes me thankful I had great parents.

Yea, AP went way overboard and this could have not been the first, second or even third time. There is a major difference between disciplined spankings and beatings.

I spank my girls on the rare occasion, especially when they don't listen and keep repeating whatever they do over and over and over. Timeouts only lasted so long.....

My spankings are more of a sound effect thing that won't hurt much, just enough to get their attention and always on the rear-end.

I was raised with them from parents to teachers to coaches and sometimes in front of the class or locker room. I think I turned out ok

Parents just used hands(dad tried a belt a few times) but the worst was from the coaches......we had to lean against a wall and the big, wooden paddle came out. Those left marks for days.

Different times, different eras and I hate spanking them so it doesn't happen often, maybe once every 3 months at most :(

That was overboard. I received a spanking many times as a kid and the belt across the rump as well, but never like the photos.

It's a different generation; you either evolve or you get left behind. You can get away with it if you're a nobody like the rest of us, but not when you're one of the most popular players in the NFL and someone that many view as an all-time great.

This won't destroy his career, but it will endanger it.

He abused that child.

Perhaps he learned that at the hand of his own father but that should only be more reason not to do that to his own.

I am not defending Petersons actions in any way shape or form but perhaps a lack of discipline growing up is partly responsible for some of the nonsense you see in todays society.
Its a fine line between discipline and abuse and its also one that he obviously crossed over.

What he needs to do is hire nannies for all those kids.

Then someone else takes all this heat he is gettting.

What a pitiful decision for him. He has a lot of mouths to feed. This is why TO is still trying to get back in the league...one of the reasons.

I do not agree with this level of discipline to children.

I know I am silly and a smarty pants sometimes.

Seriously though.

I heard a guy tonight make a point that I never really thought of...

You can beat your child with less hate and criminal penalty than beating your dog.

Then he went on to discuss the innocence and love you should have. It was amazing to hear.

Pitiful.

His other point was that children are really the only people you can hit without serious discipline in most cases.

So the owner charged with sexual assault won't deal with a player charged with child abuse.

Let's rein in the vitriol for a minute. Jerry was ACCUSED of sexual assault in a lawsuit (money grab), which is a far different different thing than being CHARGED with it.

I don't think it is a fine line at all.

Healthy discipline and abuse are miles apart.

Let me be more precise with my statement.....
What some people think is healthy discipline would be considered by others to be abuse.

Jerry's not going to give up anything in a trade for a dirtbag like Peterson, no owner or GM will make a move for him. Peterson might've nailed himself the same fate of Ray Rice after the evidence was released.

Pacman Jones, Tank Johnson, Terrell Owens, Demetrius Underwood, Alonzo Spellman.......

Most of the guys Dallas got for very cheap. They gave up very little to get any of them. All but Pacman were free agents and Dallas recouped the pick they traded to get Pacman back. TO is the only that had a big contract. Getting Peterson would be much different than what it took to get those other guys, so it isn't unreasonable to believe Jerry won't give up anything for him. At least anything of great value, which is what it will probably take to pull off a trade for Peterson.

You don't trade for him. If he's released, he'd be cheap to sign. Someone will.

Adrian Peterson called Jerry because of what took place back in May of this year. Adrian took a switch from a tree branch and disciplined his kid, however when the child went back home to the mother. The child had cuts all over him and the doctor said it was child abuse. Now today he has been indicted by a Montgomery County, Texas, grand jury on charges of reckless or negligent injury to a child and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Adrian is now deactivated with the Vikings and I'm more than sure they will cut him or trade him asap. Now I understand why the call was made and why.

Do you think that Jerry Jones will pull the trigger and bring him in?

Do you really believe that was the reason for the phone call?

Did you read the text messages between the babies mom and him? It is 100% abuse.
