I want Brock Purdy to have the longest day of his life

A rattled Brock Purdy making mistakes = Cowboys victory. After seeing Purdy play several games, my thought is that, while he's no Dan Marino, he's a highly competent quarterback. It helps that his team has set up a system that fits his abilities really well. However, I believe he can be rattled. I believe our defense can get tough and unpredictable pressure on him, making him hurry his throws, and maybe cause some deflections.
...
I'm not saying Purdy's some scrub who can easily be confused. He's a capable QB who's shown he can make plays that help his team win. However, I am saying the guy's far from being invincible. Pressure can disrupt his effectiveness.
...
If the 49ers have the most-rattled quarterback, we win. If the 49ers make the most turnovers, we win.

Purdy’s best asset is his poise. He has an average (at best) arm and most of his passes are short designed to get the ball to his many playmakers. Purdy is the poster boy for how important the mental side of playing QB can be,

I believe the key to a Cowboys win will be to do these things in order:
  1. Stop the run. By shutting down the running game, we force the niners to put it ALL on Purdy. He’s a good QB but I would rather have the odds of him not beating us than the running game.
  2. Make Purdy uncomfortable. Hurries, knock down and sacks. Easier said than done.
  3. The offense needs to give us 24 with zero TOs.

Can’t remember the exact stats but they talked about this on one of the podcasts this week and when under pressure last year he wasn’t good.

SF faced the Steelers, which defense is not as it was and can be scored on.
They beat a Rams team that gave them a game. I am not sure how good their defense really is this season.
They played the Giants who gave them a tough game.
Then pulled away from the Cards that gave them a decent game.

So this SF team can be scored on, and other than the Steelers, team hung with them until late in the games.

Not saying this is any sign of encouragement for our offense, as they need to show they can score TD's and not settle for FG's.
But SF has not faced a defense like ours can be either.
This could be a low scoring game, or low scoring in the 1st half or so, then a scoring frenzy.

Either way it will be a tough game.

....I was sweating the NE game, more than this one. We have great momentum coming in.

People dont realize how good our defense is. We're going to suffocate SF.

Your right about SF being scored on. I watched little of their first three games.

I saw nothing, in how the media depicts SF. They are good team, not a juggernaut as they propose them.

Purdy is good.. the Niners are good.. The question that needs answering is are the Cowboys as good or better? I agree that stopping the run and beating Purdy to a pulp greatly increases our chances to win this game. Guys gotta be disciplined.. Don't fall for eye candy.. maintain their gaps and DO YOUR JOB! I think our defensive front is better than their offensive line. IF they play to their ability. I also think that at full strength our offensive line is slightly better than their defensive front. But admittedly no one knows how close to full strength our guys will be.. or how long they will stay that way. This game is gonna be fun!!!

That is very much needed, discipline in defense , guys maintaining their assignments and no freelancing. Also hit purdy early and often but with discipline , not after the ball is gone or going for head , low on leg etc.

Any qB if he is getting hit and hearing footsteps will make mistakes, offense has to play as clean game as they can and establish a run game and score TDs , only wayto put SF behind the curve is get a lead and unleash hounds.

Its not like he has done much in the last two games. Him and Garrapollo. I dont even think they have a TD on both games combined?

He got lucky last game when we dropped two easy picks, one of them an easy pick six that Diggs dropped.

He is better this year though.

To have any chance of rattling Purdy we have to jump on San Francisco early. We have to stop the run and put the game on him. No one has been able to rattle him because he has a great team around him. He’s never put in a position where he has to press. I think the 49ers are the best team in the league. They’ve score 30 or more points in every game. They’re very solid offensively and defensively. The Cowboys are going to have their work cut out for them on Sunday night.

I'd feel better if I could explain away the ARI game. They had a plan to exploit our defense and it worked perfectly. The 49ers seem well equipped to duplicate that plan. If we adjust to that, the question is what we leave open as a result and can they exploit that new opening. We'll find out Sunday one way or another!

yeah, I hear ya. Here take this as big picture. We have played 4 games. Of the 4, 3 we dominated in, literally.

Might be fair to say, Dallas went to AZ half asleep or thinking why play hard, its in the bag. Maybe even the loss of Diggs, was somehow in their psyche.

Anyhow, that's how I mentally see it.

The SF will be good game for sure. I just DONT see SF being, as they are being made to be.

They have played avg defenses, yet the teams scored upon them. This group of defenders we have, are special.

If they show up, we win.
