You have to make them play from behind in the 2nd half to get them out of their comfort zone. The Cowboys nearly did that in January, but the INTs and Pollard injury did them in. The 49ers are seemingly impossible to beat if you're chasing them for the majority of the game.

yeah, I hear ya. Here take this as big picture. We have played 4 games. Of the 4, 3 we dominated in, literally.

Might be fair to say, Dallas went to AZ half asleep or thinking why play hard, its in the bag. Maybe even the loss of Diggs, was somehow in their psyche.

Anyhow, that's how I mentally see it.

The SF will be good game for sure. I just DONT see SF being, as they are being made to be.

They have played avg defenses, yet the teams scored upon them. This group of defenders we have, are special.

If they show up, we win.
I believe psychological explanations are always the last resort: that stuff is massively overrated. It's possible that played a part but I don't believe it was everything. There was a weakness in the defense that was exploitable and the Cardinals fully exploited it. The question is, was it just bad game-planning and something that can be fixed easily, or was it something more fundamental. I don't know, but I do know it's not the first time in the last couple years that a team has been able to run all over this defense. If we don't see it crop up on Sunday, then it probably was just a fluky thing. Otherwise, I'll still be worried about it.

SF faced the Steelers, which defense is not as it was and can be scored on.
They beat a Rams team that gave them a game. I am not sure how good their defense really is this season.
They played the Giants who gave them a tough game.
Then pulled away from the Cards that gave them a decent game.

So this SF team can be scored on, and other than the Steelers, team hung with them until late in the games.

Not saying this is any sign of encouragement for our offense, as they need to show they can score TD's and not settle for FG's.
But SF has not faced a defense like ours can be either.
This could be a low scoring game, or low scoring in the 1st half or so, then a scoring frenzy.

Either way it will be a tough game.
On offense, Dallas scores 3 TD's. We'll see how the rest goes...

Both teams are motivated to prove they are the best...make your cases on the field, not press clippings!

Everybody focusing on our last two exits via SF.
Well SF has not seen this version of Cowboys yet, not this chapter.
Pages about to get turned.

Purdy’s best asset is his poise. He has an average (at best) arm and most of his passes are short designed to get the ball to his many playmakers. Purdy is the poster boy for how important the mental side of playing QB can be,

I believe the key to a Cowboys win will be to do these things in order:
  1. Stop the run. By shutting down the running game, we force the niners to put it ALL on Purdy. He’s a good QB but I would rather have the odds of him not beating us than the running game.
  2. Make Purdy uncomfortable. Hurries, knock down and sacks. Easier said than done.
  3. The offense needs to give us 24 with zero TOs.
Purdy may be the next Tom Brady in terms of a calm demeanor, and ability to make very good decisions with the football. If you give him time, he is going to pick you apart if he has competent receivers. It’s a shame he’s not playing for the Cowboys as the backup, pushing Dak.

kinda gives me some romo vibes.
Romo was a playmaker. Gunslinger, risk taker.

Purdy gives me young Brady vibes. Absolutely nothing about the guy is impressive on the surface. But someone earlier said it best, he's got poise. He's also smart, plays within himself, and keeps mistakes to a minimum.

My concern is niners will play a similar offensive game plan as us. They will run try to the ball, and when they throw it will be short quick passes. I see alot of misdirection plays, which is a good way to attack a fast defense. I see them running right at Micah to lessen his effectiveness. We must contain the edges. I would even consider playing Micah as a more traditional LB role on obvious run plays. If we dont eat the cheese on the misdirection, and we contain the edges and off tackles, then we have a very good shot to put them in positions that favor our strength (passrush)

Look for them to use our speed and agressiveness on defense against us.

I'd feel better if I could explain away the ARI game. They had a plan to exploit our defense and it worked perfectly. The 49ers seem well equipped to duplicate that plan. If we adjust to that, the question is what we leave open as a result and can they exploit that new opening. We'll find out Sunday one way or another!
3 new lineman with limited reps. And Diggs going down on that Friday. Team was emotionally rocked. But we knew adversity would show up this season. Maybe they took that personally. Because the response against a desperate Patriots team was complete domination. I’m surprisingly confident in this game against the 49ers. We have the scheme to do it. Players have to execute.
