Please, please, please make it go away.

Make it 15yds and a first down. That is harsh enough. Way too many teams flinging it down the field desperate to crawl back into a game.

That is all...:)

PS, There should never be such a thing as a 40yd penalty.

As much as I'd like to agree with you, I can't. The rule isn't the problem, the trash DBs are. By making it a 15 yard penalty you are just encouraging DBs to interfere even more.

I say get rid of some rules and simplify other rules. It's reached a point where these calls don't even make any sense but than we here we'll according to the rule book.

Yep, I like the college PI rule better. Its a 15 yard penalty.

You can't go to the college rule, but you can eliminate the underthrown ball PIs.

Rewarding poor (or purposely underthrown) balls cannot continue and i believe (hope) they will look at that in the offseason.

If they don't then i feel the League would show they have a clear preference to having rules in place that greatly influence games and are very subjective by nature.

I remain optimistic they will do they right thing.. sort of

SO then the refs get to make a judgment call on which balls are underthrown.

No thanks.

It's easier to determine if a receiver has to stop or come back to an underthrown ball, right now the trailing DB will always get called for PI. That is totally against the spirit of the game imo.

It's the number one complaint i've heard from announcers regarding rules this season.
