I want people to call us tough, which I haven't heard in close to two decades

I want people to call us tough… mean to play against. No easy day at the office when you play the Cowboys.
This is a different looking team that enjoys hitting people.
Toughness left the building the day Jimmy Johnson walked out the door. There hasn't been anyone since who demanded the physical play that Jimmy demanded.

I hope so. After everything is said and done, it's still tackle football played by grown men. Being bigger, stronger and tougher than the other guys helps win games
Being bigger, stronger, and tougher doesn't really matter. If the individual player doesn't use this to his advantage through physical play he's going to get steamrolled.

Being tough starts in the trenches. The OL has the personnel to trend into being tough, but I see them doing more passing than running. The Defense it starts in the middle and Dallas isn't considered tough there. Jerry needs to make some additions at 1T to get the defense stronger.

Something that stayed with me since the 1992 season after we beat the Chiefs in a close game. One of the players on the Chiefs said after the game, we had to up our intensity level. That's a powerful statement, and music to any Cowboys fans ears.

The offensive line has the best potential for that.

The interior Dline and LBs will NOT be called tough. The current inhabitants will be rag dolled and consistently out of position.....just like last season

I am not sure 1 draft makes us a different hitting team. We have not been a top physical team for some time.

Just happy that Shotty has recognized and called it out.

At least that would finally make us feel like the monkey is off the back a bit
And with this current roster, Der Schottenheimer could get HC of the year consideration which would make us and Der Fatherland quite pleased

New coaching staff, so we do not know this.
A large part of this is the personnel, though, which has basically the same FO people choosing the roster. It's hard to be physical in the trenches when you're outclassed and overmatched. I will give the FO points for effort on the OL, that is looking like a physical bunch of dudes, not so much on the DL side. Fingers crossed that our late late round DTs are winners.

Wouldve loved Scattabo ....wouldve added that element, maybe Mufra can.
Luepke can given the carries

Can't fix everything at the same time.

Maybe, and that is a big maybe, they focus on the DL, and specifically the DT's next year.
This is year 2 of a soft rebuild. Jerry even said it. They are looking down the road 2 or 3 years.
