I Want To Believe In Dak

But I just can't. Dak has obviously flashed some top shelf ability at times in his career but going on 9 years in the league all he really has accomplished are some humiliating bad performances in the few playoff appearances he's made. I won't get into the horrible contract extension he received here.

The worst part is he's been injury prone and obviously regressing from an ability standpoint. In his last 8 games he's 3-5 with a 45 QBR. My point is he was never enough and he's not getting better. So is Pickens better than Cooks, yea of course he is but is he that much better that he makes that kind of difference in Dak's play? Is Tyler Booker better than Zach Martin? The point I'm making is that I don't think you can make enough good moves on the offensive side that drastically changes the one thing that ultimately determines the outcome of games and that's Dak himself. I obviously hope I am wrong but I don't think I am.

As a Tennessee fan Milton ain't it either, more upside than Rush yes but he's a Temu Dak.
Pickens is a WR that is able to catch a ball that is thrown everywhere. Dont believe me? check out Vouch Lombardis short video about pickens on youtube on his channel.

And as Vouch also said Dak is a QB that is able to throw the ball everywhere but not where the WR is. Thats his best (and unfortunately his only) ability.

So i expect great things form the Dak Slash Pickens combination.

So, we'll see you in 2026. No use wasting your time.

I think the point is, no matter how many trades Jerry makes the season, or at least the offense, hinges on Dak. 2023 Dak gives the Cowboys a chance to make the playoffs where Dak will again have a chance to prove he is not a choke artist. 2024 Dak, pre-injury, will result in another losing season. But every team's chances hinge on the play at QB. This is why they are drafted early, and paid so much money.

But this is precisely why, now that they gave Dak an extension and another restructure, the focus should be on the defense. If the Cowboys are going to win anything special, they will need the defense to carry the team. When we get to the playoffs and Dak struggles to score 20 points, the defense has to be able to hold the other team to less than 20 points. They need to make more 3rd down stops. They need to be able to stop those 1st and 2nd down runs for 8 yards or more.

Hey you don't have to believe in Santa Claus to enjoy Christmas.

Just like you don't have to believe in Dak to enjoy cowboy football.

And those embarrassing playoff losses weren't all on him Jerry lied to all of us last year and said he was going all in he did the opposite I believe to spite everyone for that playoff loss and kill off McCarthy's contract.

This year with a new coach Jerry has definitely made much more of an effort than he did last year.

Dak is here for another few years nothing you can do about it he's been given enough tools at this point to be successful.

Offensive line should be in its prime by the time we get our new franchise quarterback so enjoy what we have don't set your expectations very high be patient and wait for the new quarterback that's on the horizon.

Jerry's effort this season has at least given us enough talent to have some good football to watch unfortunately we're in a very good division so it may not translate to playoff success but it should be a fun season to watch so try and enjoy it

I see what they are doing though. They have invested so much into the QB position that they need to do whatever they can to get something out of him. That means ramping up the talent on offense.

And FWIW, the Philly analogy isn't the best. Yes, they invested in the defense last year but they also put a really talented offense in place as well. Smith was a 1st round WR, traded a bunch of picks for Brown, signed Barkley to a big deal, invested three high round picks in the OL, etc.
so another mistake, on top of a previous mistake....two wrongs don't make a right.

Philly spend their first 5 picks this year on defense.
the first 3 picks in 24 was defense
4 of top 5 picks was defense in 23
3 of top 4 in 2022 was defense

they drafted DTs two years in a row and already had DTs on the team. they spend money on top FAs on defense.

yes, they added Smith. they traded for Brown. but they are focused on defense. in 2022, they were top 5 defense. they fell off in 23 and made changes. 24 they were dominant again.
they had a talented offense. but realized you can't win with offense alone.

WoW I'm impressed 3 pages of a Dak thread and no mountaineer. He must be under the weather in west Virginia. In fact there's a few others I anticipated that's yet to show.
Hey please leave that negative brokeback mountain ,wet blanket throwing ,killjoy wherever he's at in silence.
And don't make me tell you how I really feel.
Oh geez too late see what you've done. Lol

Dak eventually has to repay us for the 60 million we're giving him, so expect some great games/a great season coming up one of these years in the deal. All of this mess about him being injured and will miss games, the football God's won't allow this to happen, they've talked to Jerry and Jerry said thank you! lol
