Video: I WANT WOODS. ‘Most Athletic TE in NFL Draft - JELANI! - here at dallascowboys HQ - FISH REPORT

I agree, but he MAY be an exception to the rule. If this kid can learn how to run better routes and learn the speed of the game at the NFL level, he can be dynamic...even generational at the position. He's Darren Waller with massive upside.

Still rather not draft TE2 with one of our first 3 picks unless his production matched his athleticism.

Would reconsider if Cowboys trade down and add multiple picks in 2nd and 3rd round.

I'd rather not.

TE is not rated quite as high as other positions in this draft.

Overdrafting for need is never good strategy.
Of coarse, it will depend on our board and what are players are available.

He is in Cowboys no mans land. You can't use a 1st round pick on him and he's long gone before our 2nd round pick.
He is going to go early in the 2nd round and the first TE off the board.
I was afraid the rest of the league was going to catch on to him and they did.

He might go before 56 and he might not. There are a lot of good tight ends in this draft. The Cowboys will get at least one of them. I would take 2 of them. That would give them 2 good ones for at least several years.

Jelani Woods would be a great pick in the 3rd if he's there. However, that combine suggests he will go possibly in the 2nd. I'm still a McBride fan for our TE. We need a dual run blocking TE who can also catch everything, he's the full package. McBride is a late first, early second. Eitherway, a TE would be a great draft pick for this team, and this class is loaded with TE prospects!

Ruckert from Ohio State can do it all. I would love to have Ruckert and Woods with Burks or Olave.
