this is our year to be 'them' (from 2007) and start rolling over people as we head to the playoffs
BraveHeartFan;3115173 said:Oh goodness. How many times are we going to have these threads were people worry about rather what someone says effects a game? Do you really think a team can win a game based entirely on how upset they are that someone said something?
Seriously?
Get out of town. Players on every team talk junk before, during, after pretty much every game they play in, especially against rival teams. It has no bearing on rather a team wins a game or not.
Either you're going to be good enough to beat a team on a given day or you're not. If you're not good enough to beat them on a given day then no matter of anger you build up over what someone said in the lead up, or during, a game is going to change that.
I guess Titans fans should have been scared to death, and just given up on their season, when Chris Johnson said he believed the Titans would go 10-0 down the stretch. I imagine they all ran and hid out of fear that all of those other teams were going to be so pissed off that he said that.
They're words. They can't win you or lose you any games.

Do you really think the Giants players, sitting there at 6-5, don't care about the game until an opponant talks a little bit?
You think Bradie James suddenly "woke up" the Giants players, and they're now going to come out and "play mad" and kick our butts?
Don't be so naive.
This isn't high school football.
This is the NFL. Players talk all the time, so what.
The game is what's important to the players and they all know what's on the line, even before James talked.
Yeesh

You are correct. People are free to post as many stupid things as they want. Just don't expect rational people to go along.
Rational in this case is not believing a few words spoken before a football game will effect the outcome. I guess you never played the game. When I played we got fired up the week before the game against a hated rival and may have practiced/worked out a little harder, but as soon as the first hitting starts whatever was said before the game by other players is quickly forgotten.
It's not like they are standing around between plays and saying to each other, "Hey man remember what Braddie said?". In the land of reality it does not work that way.
