As long as the player backs his talk up, he can say whatever he wants. It's when they talk "big" and don't deliver they look like fools obviously.

I was confident until I read this thread,,, now I'm worried that the lack in confidence in some fans will create negative vibes which will gather like a cloud and float over to the Meadowlands and infect the Cowboy players and give the Giants superhuman strength.

I'm also worried it will suck some of the moxie out of Romo and give it to Eli who will immediately start nailing supermodels at halftime,,,

Sounds like something a leader would say. What if Brooking would've said it?

not trash talk at all...perfectly stated.. we have to make up for them pooping on our parade when we opened up our new stadium...
this is our year to be 'them' (from 2007) and start rolling over people as we head to the playoffs

Trash Talk??

Trash talk is when you are talking bad about the other team, Like what Brandon Jacobs likes to do. Bradie talking about the cowboys goals going into the game is not trash talk in now way.

It can be extra motivation - players admit it. 2 recent examples of extra motivation: Porter vs. the Pats, Crayton vs. the Giants, 2008 playoffs

That maybe but the fact still remains that those words do not win or lose the game. If you aren't good enough, aren't prepared enough, and aren't capable of winning the game, before those words were said, then you won't be after they're said.

They may motivate players more, and make them want to win more, but if the other team is just better than you, and plays like they're supposed to, then it won't matter how motivated you are you're not going to beat them.

Cleveland could get mad as hell at a Dallas player for talking junk about them and if Dallas came into the game, and played like they're capable of and does it's job, then there wouldn't be a thing that Cleveland could do about those words making them mad.

Same with the Giants. If Dallas goes in, plays like they're capable of and supposed to, and they do their job of taking care of business then it simply will not matter how much those words upset Snee or any of the Giants.

And the way to do that is to beat them in Giants stadium. Is there any reason they can't wait for a victory before opening their mouths? Is being dumber than Brandon Jacobs the new goal for the team?

Screw the Giants. I'm glad Bradie is talking trash. It's going to be even better when we go to their house and punch them in the mouth. I just have a feeling it's going to be an epic beatdown, and the most satisfying feeling in 3 seasons.

Oh goodness. How many times are we going to have these threads were people worry about rather what someone says effects a game? Do you really think a team can win a game based entirely on how upset they are that someone said something?

Seriously?

Get out of town. Players on every team talk junk before, during, after pretty much every game they play in, especially against rival teams. It has no bearing on rather a team wins a game or not.

Either you're going to be good enough to beat a team on a given day or you're not. If you're not good enough to beat them on a given day then no matter of anger you build up over what someone said in the lead up, or during, a game is going to change that.

I guess Titans fans should have been scared to death, and just given up on their season, when Chris Johnson said he believed the Titans would go 10-0 down the stretch. I imagine they all ran and hid out of fear that all of those other teams were going to be so pissed off that he said that.

They're words. They can't win you or lose you any games.

You are right. I think you'd be perfect to decide what we should or should not read. And decide what can or cannot be posted. Hey, what time is the book-burning and then the rally against thinking? I hate it when people think!!!!

In a perfect world I wish we had been quiet all week and not talked about this being a do or die game for them because I do believe this talk is helping them regain their focus.

That said, I don't think anything the guys have said qualifies as trash talk.

The mods.........thats why we have them.

You are correct. People are free to post as many stupid things as they want. Just don't expect rational people to go along.

Rational in this case is not believing a few words spoken before a football game will effect the outcome. I guess you never played the game. When I played we got fired up the week before the game against a hated rival and may have practiced/worked out a little harder, but as soon as the first hitting starts whatever was said before the game by other players is quickly forgotten.

It's not like they are standing around between plays and saying to each other, "Hey man remember what Braddie said?". In the land of reality it does not work that way.

So what if some players talk a little bit.

Do you really think the Giants players, sitting there at 6-5, don't care about the game until an opponant talks a little bit?

You think Bradie James suddenly "woke up" the Giants players, and they're now going to come out and "play mad" and kick our butts?

Don't be so naive.

This isn't high school football.

This is the NFL. Players talk all the time, so what.

The game is what's important to the players and they all know what's on the line, even before James talked.

I don't think that Bradie really said anything too provocative here. But there have been instances where teams have said that an opposing player's published words gave them extra motivation to win a game. I'll take the players' word on this subject. Given how close many teams are in the league, any incremental motivation could be meaningful.

I find this sight pretty funny, one day people are hollering this team has no swagger then when someone stands up and shows some he is beaten down for it. Make up your mind people. :laugh2:
