I was happy with a few things from Bledose

I really have not had a chance to read the board yet, so I do not know what is being said, and I imagine it is the opposite of what I am about to say.

I actually liked what I saw from Bledsoe last night. It was not perfect by any means, but he showed a little of what I want to see.

Mainly I thought he handled the pressure pretty well. He actually moved around and was not a sitting duck.

When quick pressure came he got rid of the ball quickly to the safety valve.

For the most part the thing I really liked is he was decisive with his decisions.

Now he missed that throw to Witten, but I can live with that right now, I excpect the timing to get better as he starts to get most of the reps.

I think the sideline pattern to Crayton was on Crayton. I could be wrong because I am not sure what Crayton was suppose to run, but he should have ran that out.

The best part of last night from Bledsoe was the run and dive head first.

The offense seemed to be completly different after that, and I really think it fired up the 1st team O.

All in all there is still some work, but I liked some of the things I saw.

I agree wit you. As for Bledsoe run it was not spectacular from a running stand point but what it does is shows Bledsoe teammates he is willing to lay it on the line for them.

To me it seems Bledsoe is very comfortable throwing the mid range passes or anything where he can fire the ball. He seemed to struggle with the short stuff (Swings, screens etc) He is lacking some touch at this point in Pre-Season.

It showed me that he is not a statue just sitting in the pocket waiting to be sacked. He definately is not as immobile as ppl would like to believe. He showed that the old man has a little speed and I think he will be just fine as long as the O-line gives him enough time to execute.

I agree but it does let teammates know he is willing to do what ever has to be done and that does help in terms of establishing yourself as the leader. Believe me I don’t want to see Bledsoe diving head 1st too often but it does mean something to teammates when they see a guy like Bledsoe do things like that

I agree however his TD pass was a swing pass out to the FB

He has always had problems with touch passes.

He is at his best when he can sling it downfield between the hashes.

The "almost" pick was a horrible decision coupled with a poor pass... his feet were never set when he threw it.

But running has never been the issue with him, look at him in NE (getting injured taking a shot looking for more yards) or in Buff. The issue was holding the ball, which he did do again last nite. Also, his long range touch was not on par, that pass to Witten needed another 4-5 yards under it to get it there for 7, and in my opinion, those are the throws that he needs to be making (he is known for his nice deep balls).

If he can learn to check down quicker, it might not be as bad. But I am not, nor have I ever, been a Drew fan. And I saw a lot of him last year being here in Bills country.

Most ints or close calls are horrible decisions yet even the top ranked QB in the league do that from time to time.

Granted.

But his mechanics were an issue on that pass attempt which often happens with Drew.

He is the QB like it or not. Myself I think Bledsoe will do just fine, I'm not expecting Pro Bowl type season but I do think he can lead this offense and help them become more productive. Sorry I'm not joining the bash bledsoe crowd.

I disagree on both points.

Bledsoe was getting rid of the ball pretty good last night. Not perfect, but pretty good. He definetly had a couple of quick throws with pressure baring down, he also looked much more decisive.

On the pass to Witten I think he should have dropped it in between the corner and safety and take something off of it, not try to throw over the saftey.

Look you guys already are aginst him your going to nit pick him all season long so enjoy yourself but I'm not going to sit here and bash the guy constantly as you have been doing since the day he signed. Yes he threw a bad pass he also threw some good passes in the game and did lead the offense to a TD on the night. I'm not expecting Marino type numbers from the guy but I do think he can lead this offense.

Clearly that is the case, as I said I'll judge Bledsoe by what he does here and now with the Cowboys not what took place in Buffalo. I think he can do the job and is clearly going to be the starting QB and I fully support the guy. Just not going to join the bash party, he did not play as bad last night as you are portraying

Doom, I don't think I said he played badly. It was a nice improvement over the Arizona game. I hope it improves.

Glad to hear that I would hate to think you are rooting aginst the guy. It just sometimes appears to be the case

I'm not rooting against the guy. Not at all. It benefits me not one iota if he fails... not one.

Except that you'll be able to say "I told you so" which some guys on message boards (of all kinds) seem to live and die for.

By the way, his feet were set. He had a lot of time to throw, no one was in his face. It was a bad throw, a bad decision. But guess what? He completed 63% of his passes, led the team to a FG and a TD in a short stint. No turnovers and a victory. But if he doesn't go 19-0 this season some guys will always be able to complain.
