He should've caught that 2pt conversion no doubt, and worried less about the officials. That said, he caught 2-3 crucial third down catches for us. How many players in the league could've done what he did on that 3rd and 20 play when he ran through 2-3 guys? Not to mention, almost anytime he EVER gets 1 on 1 coverage (and yesterday was a perfect point) he beats his guy. I'm not mad at Bailey either. He is about as automatic as it gets, I can't remember the last field goal he missed before the 51 yarder. Can you without looking it up?Without both of them, we would not have been in the game. I guess if I had to point a finger as to why we lost it would be that special teams td we gave up, but certainly not Dez or Bailey. They both should make those 2 final plays they had, and I don't think anyone would have said the loss was their fault if those 2 particular plays came in the 1st or 2nd quater.

Dez,

You have to make that catch!

Bailey,

You have to adjust for the wind!

Garrett,

You have to do better!

Special Teams,

ughhhh!

Offense,

Have to get rid of those penalties

Hoopefully we just move Dez to HB soon if we don't intend to throw him any passes that travel more than 5 yards in the air. That sub 8 ypc would make Keyshawn Johnson blush.

Did I miss something -- did he get a 1st down on that play?

It was a nice physical play. He is a monstrous physical presence when he has the ball in his hands. I think he has a chance to be the best possession WR in the NFL.:

Baileys was the most painful, IMO. We are practically given the win, he screws up the kick and it STILL had the distance. I think if he shanked or or it just fell short it would be less painful but it proved he more than had the leg for it.

Dez's career YPC is exactly the same as Keyshawn Johnson's was when he retired. I see a lot of similarities in their play.

You cant drop the two point conversion and cost your team a potential win. A receiver having a 2 yard pass bounce off your chest and losing the game is the equivelant of a kicker missing a game winning 20 yard field goal. Dont think many here would say even though he missed the last kick he had a good game.

The Dez apologists around here are amazing. Sure he did make some plays but when you are thrown at between 15-20 times in a single game, I would hope that you could make a few plays in there somewhere

How did the offense look when he went in to get an IV again?

And there it is. The problem isn't that they make errors, but they make them at the most critical time in games.

You have a thread on this topic already don't you?

looking back, and hearing what bailey had to say, it was just a really tough kick. but the winds were swirling in baltimore, and he's kicking from the left hash. we really needed to get him closer, and preferably not on the left hash if possible.

he really is a fantastic kicker. the only reason we had a chance was due to a perfect middle dribbler onside kick that andre holmes could make a play on.

Closer or not, I don't think the ball was ever between the goal post in flight was it?

I am not mad at him - I just wish he had kicked it a bit to the right - when you looked at the flags, the wind was blowing right to left. He missed it by the wind!

i thought that as it left his foot, the kick would've been on target normally, but then the wind just took it.

i'm not an expert on the intricacies of kicking, but i think if we had gotten him closer, bailey could've focused completely on accuracy than making sure he had the distance.

Did anyone notice if perhaps the sun/shade transition was near and might have caused Dez to not get a good bead on that pass? Just askin'...

I'm not going to fault a kicker for missing a 51 yarder, those are anything but gimmes

We had plenty of time to give him a better shot at it, a blame the once who screwed that up for that miss more then i blame Baily

It would have tied the game. I keep seeing people say he would've won the game, but at the end it played out perfectly. Except what happened before the FG. Some people will go to all lengths to hammer this guy. 13 catches!!! is what he had and 2 TD's! Where was Miles? He couldn't beat the slot guy??? Try placing blame some where else outside of Dez's 2-point miss. I am waiting for the 54 million dollar man to show up and beat slot guy. I've seen people bang on KO for having no catches, but really the guy is the 4th option and had a huge PI call to get us in position for the FG and you know what he has 5 less catches then the #2 54 million dollar man. Maybe just Maybe Miles isn't as good as billed.

I dont worry much about Dez. What you want to see out of young guys is consistency, and the ability to stack 1 good game after another. Statistically, Dez has had 2 very good weeks in a row. The task is cutting out those errors. Yesterday for him I thought was alot better than the Bears game, does anyone disagree? So the objective for Carolina should be putting up similar yardage while ridding the drops.

I'd rather have Bailey make it and get the win. The way the game panned out, I'd rather Dez drop the 2pt tbh.
