We had rookies facing up against Tomlinson and Garrett. The fact they didn’t get Dak pulverized is a win. If it was peak Tron and Fredbeard then sure, below average or poor performance. But 1st game rookies? B+ to A.

Why wasn't the OL good yesterday? I think they held their own and actually pushed the Browns around physically.
They had no time to throw, generated few holes in the run game. Standard stuff. Zeke/Dowdle averaged a combined 3.67 ypc and by my quick count, 8 runs of 2 yards or less. When your best run play is an end around to a WR, your OL is not generating movement.

No they had time to throw for the most part. Just that Dak threw it too early at times when he didn't have to. The oline handled the pressure well given that they played a topnotch defense.

Nope. The whole reason for the quick passing game, combined with the sprint outs and moving the pocket, is because they couldn't block. It's why in the second half the Browns just shrunk the field and made it impossible to find any passing windows.

What game did you watch? Did you see the pressure ratings? Beebe had 0 pressures. While Guyton only had 2. Prescott had time. He rush his passes which he didn't have to.

...this guy, a rookie, went out and played against one of the best in the league.

He wasn't shutting down Garrett. But he maintained his own. He got help from ribby's and TE's.

Few times, I saw him go one on one. I thought, oh no. But he manned his feet under him, and was physical with Garrett.

Great pick up by Dallas.
Hey a rookie up against a beast like Garrett, I was impressed! Like you said: Great pick up by Dallas.

The scheme was great too. McCarthy did a heck of a job.

That’s where you see a difference between a guy like Jason Garrett and McCarthy.

Some of you I swear are never happy, time to get rid of Tyrpn he is always injured, they finally let him go and pick up a kid that played the blindside on the right side in college and talking like he is Alex Barron. Yeah he has work to do but the more comfortable he gets with left side footwork technique the better he will be.

Guyton had 4, that I saw. But again, there were a ton of quick throws and sprint outs that make it impossible to generate pressure. I mean look at the touchdown pass - the OL blew the blocking assignment lol

How do you give up 3 sacks on 32 pass attempts and think that the OL passblocked well? Blaming it all on Dak is stupid.

I see the potential but I think he needs another off-season to build up his strength. He'll pick of the speed of the game this year by playing.

Tyron Smith has lost a step but if he gets in front of his guy, he stops him dead, without help. Guyton is not that guy yet.

Absolutely agree. I am continually amazed at our offensive line draft picks. We don't hit on all of them, but seemingly 90% of them. Even in later rounds. Even late in the first round. All while teams like Carolina and the Giants whiff on OL in the top 10. Our two rookies and Tyler Smith from a year or two ago I think are hits. Not what I expected.
