I was wrong

I WAS WRONG!!!

After what I saw yesterday I will be his biggest supporter for the HC job next year.

Yea, he made some questionable calls that drove me out of my seat ,and there was still some bone head plays by some of the players ,but I think with a little more experience he'll be fine, all in all I think he has brought back some enthusiasm and accountability to this team.

Being 17 points down and coming back as they did and seeing the fire on the sidelines ,He has earned the right to be the man for next year.

There is still alot of work to do ,but I think he's the man for the job.
You're going to have to sprint to catch up.

Let's run.

I gotta say I was wanting his bags packed before Wade's. You mentioned in a post that just because we were questioning him as an OC, he was still working with Wade's team and Wade's philosophy, and that he might excel at the HC position. Not verbatim, but that's what I got out of it a few weeks back.

Made me think.

I had a calculus instructor who graduated from Princeton that was an utter moron. She couldn't get her algebra correct, and we got tired of correcting her mistakes. She was bound to her own inadequacies, with no one else to save her from herself. Hence, with a master's, she was teaching in a community college.

I gave your thoughts a considerable amount of deliberation. I figured if Garrett's a HC in the making, he'll come from the Jimmy Johnson school. Let's wait and see if there are signs.

First practice, he has the team run out to the field. No more walking. Dress codes, fines. The exact team that folded under Wade in Green Bay goes toe to toe with NYG, gets hit in the mouth, spits the blood, and swings back.

The same team that folded under Wade goes down 17-0 in the first quarter. I was on the road, almost in the exact stretch of highway where I first turned on the Washington/Philly game to hear them kick the extra point to make it 21-0, in the first quarter. I was thinking we're one mistake from being 24-0 and laughed out of the NFC East. Then I thought if this team, and Garrett, are truly ready to fight, they'll keep it respectable.

Count me in on riding shotgun in the Garrett bandwagon.

If Jerry Jones gets the hell out of the way, Garrett will be fine.

If Jones starts to water down Garrett's authority or make Garrett's message to the team murky, get ready for more of the same that we've been seeing for over a decade.

Agree 100%.

I think the x-factor with Garrett and Jerry's relationships IS... Garrett is like family. He will have more influence than an outsider coming in. I think Jerry will listen more and let Garrett have more(not all) but more control.

Exactly!

This team has fight.
More importantly this team has direction and purpose. Good things spawn from there.

This Dallas Cowboys team will be FEARED next year... its already starting this year.

Yay! We played hard...hooray...(pathetic)

I would not jump into the right or wrong crowd just yet.

The team is playing better, but still not great.

I read on another thread where Jesse Holley, David Buehler, and an unnamed backup linebacker are the only remaining members of the 2009 rookie class. That's one terrible indictment of Jerry and Wade, and a significant hole to put a new coach into. I hope Jerry gets real smart from here on out.

Jim Zorn was 6-2 in his first eight games, right?

But comparing Zorn to JG is kinda cruel. JG looks like he as more presence and command of the team than Zorn.

Eight games is not a true test to see if JG is a good HC. He looks like he has changed the attitude of the team and implemented some good procedures. I would like to see how he does with a full offseason and TC. But judging from what he has done it looks like a good start.

Gruden, Cowher or whoever the hot coach is out there, what kind of traits do they bring to the table to be a good HC. Leadership, a coaching strategy, attention to detail, making players accountable, etc. Looks like JG is doing that now.

Now I know some calls last Thursday are being debated, but aren't all losing coach calls debated every Monday morning?

This team still needs a lot of work done. OL,safety, ILB. Until we get some of those positions upgraded, it doesn't matter which coach we get, we will run into the same problems like we are going through this year.

How do you know that already. We are so hungry for something positive when we get it we want to sign Garrett to a lifetime contract off of 2 games. Sheez.

I was convinced of him being Next HC, even before first game was played, pretty much like probably Hostile. But I always was willing to be wrong on that.

I think pretty much, if anyone who is not convinced this is the guy for the job, then they are idiots and can't see the clear progress Garrett has made in three short weeks, I don't think he will ever will.

Now, I can agree there is one more little test, to see how this team plays game against Colts next week. I don't expect a win at all there, since Colts will be playing for their playoff life and their D is exceptional at home. But if they keep it close, it will show that Team indeed is taking onto Garrett's persona of one day at a time and game at a time, forgetting the past.

Pardon me for wanting more games to evaluate our next coach. You're easily pleased aren't you.

I agree that this team has improved under Garrett but which waycould they go, the only way was up. Does Garrett get the credit for that? Maybe. Or does the player seeing their NFL mortallity staring them straight in the eyes make them play harder no matter who the coach is? Maybe. We need more time to see and pardon me if I take the next 5 weeks to come to a conclusion.

I think you made it amply clear from your posts on another thread how much you know.Yet you are convinced that Rob Ryan would be good because his brother can talk the talk! Talk about hypocrisy.I didn't say every fan needs to agree, because some fans wont see the truth even if it hits them on their face. I know that, because quite a few fans were happy that Sean Payton was gone from Cowboys, because they thought he sucked. But I am sure you were not one of them.

Calm down cowboy. I never said anything about a lifelong contract. All I was saying is from what I saw Thurs. nite and the last two games .Garret earned the chance to be HC for the Dallas Cowboys .

You have to admit . He has been been bread for this job for a few years now and I think he should be given the chance from what he's done in the last few games.

Man , can't we be a liitle more positive about whats going on.

For those who think Garret should be replaced ,can you guys say that another HC , coming in now could have accomplished more in the last three games???

Didn't think so.

All positive thoughts are not welcome at all. Haven't you figured that out yet?

If Garrett had not run shot-gun so much, had run the ball more, made efforts to protect Romo, could one say we would still be in the play-off hunt, maybe even leading the division and Tony Romo would still be playing, and the defense would not have folded after watching their savior go down?

Saw a report the other day that Tom Brady and New England run almost 70% of their Offense out of the shotgun.

The morons. The Hoodie clearly can't coach. Look what he did in Cleveland. They should get a real coach and GM.

Yea, And if my Daughter had balls I'd have two sons.

Careful OP. The fact that you take anything good, at all, out of anything other than winning a Superbowl means you're accepting of losing.

It must be true. I've seen it posted on these forums as fact recently.

Could you point me to the post, or posts, where anyone said to sign him to a lifetime contract after 2 games?

I'd be really interested in reading those posts.

Thanks.
