I was wrong

Saw a report the other day that Tom Brady and New England run almost 70% of their Offense out of the shotgun.

The morons. The Hoodie clearly can't coach. Look what he did in Cleveland. They should get a real coach and GM.

Why did Garrett dramatically reduce it when he became HC if it was working and Tom Brady and the Patriots run their offense 70 percent of the time? Uh, it's called personnel.. Our OL can't block worth a dime in space...

So back to the question... What if Garrett was implementing the same play-calling he was doing now when Wade was coach? Would we have been 1-7? Would Romo be out with a brokwn clavicle with the defense folding, once the saw him go out?

Last time I checked, the Dallas Cowboys offense was running between drills when Wade was here. The defense, on the other hand, was not. And the weren't when they were 13-3-, 9-7, and last year when they won a play-off game...

Yay! We played hard...hooray...(pathetic)

Still waiting for you to provide that link where anyone said that they didn't want to win, didn't care if we win, and only cared about playing hard.

With all of the options that you claimed were out there to be found you'd think you'd have found one by now.

I was one of the biggest criticizers of Jason Garret.

I WAS WRONG!!!

After what I saw yesterday I will be his biggest supporter for the HC job next year.

Yea, he made some questionable calls that drove me out of my seat ,and there was still some bone head plays by some of the players ,but I think with a little more experience he'll be fine, all in all I think he has brought back some enthusiasm and accountability to this team.

Being 17 points down and coming back as they did and seeing the fire on the sidelines ,He has earned the right to be the man for next year.

There is still alot of work to do ,but I think he's the man for the job.

How rare these days. An honest man on a Cowboys message board. I frequent many boards and most of the anti-Garrett / "fire Garrett" crowd have hopped onto the bandwagon without saying a word. LOL! What a bunch of weasels huh?

Thanks for being a stand-up guy. :)

Ah, so blasting away at the use of "shotgun" was nothing more than a strawman commentary.

The shotgun got Tony Romo hurt, not a missed block by a rookie FB and a clean hit by a Giants defender.

This is good information. I thank you from the bottom of my demented melon.

You are one trick Pony and it won't get through your thick skull, but lets try. Said plays were not implemented becuase they ddin't practice well. When team doesn't practice well then they don't put in game day. To Practice well, the HC has to demand perfection and not let players get away with stuff.

Now having said that, I am pretty sure it wont get into your skull that, no matter how much perfection Garrett might want, he can only do so much with his side, if HC wants to run things his way, unless Garrett openly defies him.

And on top of it, Jerry pretty much put it out there that everybody's job is online. So now every player has to put forth their best effort. So combo of both, Team is practicing well, which in turns executing the same said stuff in game well.

Which comes back to HC Garrett mantra of stacking good days. I.e. practice well and you will play well come game time. Play hard and results will show up etc.

Strawmen commentary? What are you reading? Are you seriously going to dispute the fact that Dallas has dramatically reduced shotgun or just ask if you won the argument by bringing up irrelevant analogies about what NE does? You brought up a point about NE going shotgun 70 percent of the time defending Garrett, and Garrett has reduced it dramaticall when he has become head coach. So what are you proving other than ou have no idea what our taliking about?

And I'm quite aware of the fact which play got Romo banged up wasn't shotgun and I never said he did. First of all, the OC put a blocking assignment on a FB, on his what who just got put in the game to protect Romo in a passing situation. Second, that is what you get when you don't establish consistency and your in shotgun over 30 snaps a game. You don't establish rhythm and you end up sucking even at the things you do better.

But I guess it's Wade fault for Garrett's offense...

I do not care how much we use or don't use the shotgun. I will never care. I will never post time and time again about the same tired crap for months at a time about any subject.

SO when you don't practice well, you make it harder for the players by doing things they don't do well, which is having them in shotgun over 30 times a game? Gottcha... Have Romo consistently in a position to scramble for his life and face injury... Brillianr..

Ah, let me see... SO that was Wade's fault as well... Even though the offense was running in-between drills WHEN WADE WAS HERE...

I have no idea what you are talking about.

No one calls me a one trick pony like they do you. That was my point, has always been my point, and I chuckle every time you rant about Garrett and the shotgun. The shotgun is evil.

You are first class thick headed knuckle head. I knew it wont get into your thick headed one trick pony head. Now carry on with your idiotic ramblings about Garrett the play caller and how he sabotaged Wade Phillips. Since apparently he was calling shots for Defense too during Wade Phillips regime.

Calm down cowboy. I never said anything about a lifelong contract. All I was saying is from what I saw Thurs. nite and the last two games .Garret earned the chance to be HC for the Dallas Cowboys .

You have to admit . He has been been bread for this job for a few years now and I think he should be given the chance from what he's done in the last few games.

Man , can't we be a liitle more positive about whats going on.

For those who think Garret should be replaced ,can you guys say that another HC , coming in now could have accomplished more in the last three games???

Didn't think so.

Good win against the Giants, got to give him credit for that.
Comeback win against the Lions. Comeback. Suppose to do that.
Loss against the Saints.

So you want to sign him up for 5 years off that? Please.

I love shotguns. I have one that is worth a small fortune. I need to sell it, but just haven't had the heart to do so.

:laugh2: And I am a Northerner...or do you guys still call us all Yankees ? ;)

I won't sell mine. I only have two. The one pictured (Benelli M4 12) and a Browning Gold 10 that I got for a gift a few years back.

I don't know what they are really worth but they are both great pieces, that I won't sell, trade, or pawn.

Sorry for the hi-jack, but this thread needed a slight one. ;)
