I would love to get a Veteran like Thomas playing for us on the defensive side of the ball. He is a passionate player that wants to get a super bowl ring and I think the Younger guys on the defense can learn a thing or two from him. He can also bring a certain toughness to the team that seems to be lacking sometimes. Also a veteran in the secondary wouldn't hurt either. If we can get Ty Law, Zack Thomas and a speed receiver like Stallworth I will be a happy camper till the draft (Assuming we resign Flow, Hamlin, Barber and Canty).

Henry, Roy, and Newman are all like 30 aren't they? I'm pretty sure our secondary has enough vets.

Shawn Springs would suit me fine for the secondary. I would like Zach Thomas though. I've always respected him.

You know, that is a really good point. They have all been in the league long enough that they need to step up and show some leadership.

Law is a vet nice FS add
not in love with injured and aging 4-3 LB in Thomas

I agree, and I've said it before that I think they are probably good leaders off the field and character guys, but they lack that killer instinct that this team needs. Guys like Ellis and Roy are too soft.

Its why I was on board with signing a guy like Ray Lewis and why I'm uninterested in Thomas.

That sorta what I meant. TNew seems like he is becoming a leader and Hamlin has helped a lot but I think we still need that Emotional leader on defense.

if they have more than 7 years of experience i dono't want them any1 with over 10 is out of the question we need guys with 3-4 years of experience. Bernard Berriam would be my WR of choice when Free Agency rolls around.

revert your opinions on that please and I'll go along with it:p:

I'd much rather have Thomas than Law... We have plenty of vets in the secondary. The secondary needs youth. That will probably come in the way of a CB in the draft.

What we don't have is good solid experience in the ILB department. I have not been impressed with our inside LBers for lots of years now... way too many big screens and 8 yard runs last season for my taste. I know having Fergy back in the middle next season will help, but we need a dynamic ILBer.

I wouldn't give up the 2 first round picks we'd likely have to give up if New England goes ahead and Franchises Moss, as it's reportedly expected they will do.

we could prolong his career by using him on passing downs only. he's not available but the dolphins are rebuilding and will prolly go to the 3-4 with BP. i just like him as a player and think he could help us.

the thing that gets me about Thomas ...strong leadership, strong skills, strong heart, but weak head. Once a guy starts suffering from concussions, seems they just aren't the same physically and will continue to decline. He'll be 35 at season's start.

I think we'd be better off trying to find a younger guy w/ less wear and tear on his body
