I know all looks bleak ... the season is done .. Dak is horrible ... Linehan needs to go .. Garrett is horrendous ... etc etc etc
But I don’t care .. I am going to Arlington next weekend for the first time and probably only time in my 50+ year life to see my Dallas Cowboys take on the Detroit lions .. I’m staying in the team hotel the Omni Frisco .. I’ll be meeting and greeting some of the Dallas Cowboys and cheerleaders .. hanging with some legends .. talking with Broadus .. touring the Frisco Star ... going to a VIP tailgate party , getting autographs and pics .. sitting in the lower rows of section 110 or 111.. walking the sidelines in pregame and much more including vip access to everywhere .. why ?? Because I am and will always be a Dallas Cowboy fan!!! No negativity or anyone / anything will ever change that !! I can’t wait to live a dream for just a weekend .. to root for my Dallas Cowboys as they play the Lions.. win lose or draw .. it doesn’t change a thing .. and before some say how dumb it is to do this .. I’ve seen worse as a fan .. I’ve seen worse in life .. I’ve lost more in life than a sports team losing a game that I love .. this year has built up to this moment next week .. to spend the weekend with my best friend in the world , my wife , watching my favorite sports team in the universe .. can’t beat it .. and as the weekend winds down .. after all the dust settles .. I will sit back and look up and say thank you !!! No matter what ... we lost family to cancer in the past months and more continue the fight ... this thing .. this game is just that .. a game .. a team that I love no matter what .. this little boy trapped in an older mans body many grays and wrinkles away from my childhood days ..many heartbreaks .. many frustrations and many celebrations with this team.. I will enjoy it .. I will cheer .. I will always be a Dallas Cowboy Fan !!! Go Cowboys !!!

The team and home field aside, you will love that place. The Star is awesome. AT&T is awesome. I am sure that giant Dez garden gnome is no longer there but it will still be great. Hopefully you catch a good game.

Great post!

I too am taking my family to the game this Sunday, our first experience in the new stadium, last time I saw a game in Dallas since the 1996 12-6 drubbing we gave to NE (Troy beats Bledsoe...lol). Although we have seen a few games in San Fran (all wins, including Tony's big comeback with broken ribs), NE (all losses...lol) and NJ (Giants and Jets, all wins but 1 game).

My woman and I are flying in tonight from CT and meeting my daughter and son in law who are coming in from Mountain View, CA.

Like you, this is about family and my team as we made these plans last Spring. We just got tickets and are renting an Airbnb house, kinda wish we signed up for the experience you are doing...but $$$s.

So enjoy the experience no matter the outcome, I'm with you brother!

Sounds awesome !!! Have a blast !!! Maybe we will see each other on Tte Jerrytron .. I’ll be the big old guy wearing the Elliott jersey racing on to the field in the 3rd quarter putting Garrett in a headlock if he screws up .. lol
I’ve seen cowboy games in every stadium in Florida several times .. most of them were wins..
Seen games in the cesspool known as the vet..
The original meadowlands .. Foxboro , Atlanta .. but never a home game
Win lose or draw .. won’t wipe this smile from my face
Go Cowboys

Despite what some say we still may turn it around. Turn it around? The season just started. We have one of the better D’s and better running games. That recipe has carried many teams in the past.

This weekend would be a good time to start and big win.

@cheftjpeck you have the right attitude. Enjoy the game. How many do we have left? Too little to complain about each and every one while simultaneously giving up on the season before it really begins. Hell, some on here have already given up on next year and the year after. That’s not hyperbole. That’s how some people think and good for them.

So true ... I understand frustration .. heck some of us endured the 80’s with this team too .. but it is a game .. just that .. a game .. where some very wealthy individuals run around in tights throwing an oblong object around hoping another man in tights making millions doesn’t tackle them.. sure I’ve broken a few TVs in my younger years , but I’ve also cried tears of joy watching my team hoist the Lombardi 5 times !! How many fan bases can say that .. now I am going to see a game I love of a team I love with the woman I’ve loved for over 30 years .. I will enjoy it .. I would love a very possible win but none the less I will take pics and get autographs of Dallas Cowboy legends both past and present .. I will walk the sidelines that some of the greats like Jason Witten , Tony Romo have walked ., I’m sure true HOF players like Aikman , Irvin and Smith have as well post playing years .. ahh yes
The grid iron ... someday all this will be gone .. and I will still be able to say .. I was there
God bless and go Cowboys

Well.... it’s almost that time .. heading to Texas in a few hours ... any suggestions for must see spots in Frisco area ? Best restaurants to visit for dinner ?

Win lose or draw .. it’s going to be a blast

Go Cowboys
I'd suggest making the drive to San Antonio. So much better than Dallas. I LOVE SA.

Have a blast !!! I went 3 years ago and after I bought my tickets Romo went down so Weeden was playing vs Atlanta. Great first half then everything went south. But we didn’t care that much. I was there with my best bud and we had the time of our lives. Go to the tours and the game and have a great time !!!!

Wish I was going too !!

Enjoy your trip and the game @cheftjpeck . I remember when my daughter and I went to our 1st game. It was in Texas Stadium and we both cherished the experience. I'm sure you will build memories to last a life time too on your 1st trip.

I have never seen the team play in Texas as I live between the giants and Eagles stadiums...I, also a 50+ Cowboy lifer, have too many bills (medical, mostly, from knee issues) and I cannot afford to go to a game in Texas; I would LOVE to see a game there so I am a little jealous...I have said that I will not give a dime to this team until they stop being idiots, but going to a game is already included in their $5B that they own (tickets already sold so if I don't go, someone will)....enjoy your time, I am sure that it will be a lifelong memory that you will cherish and hopefully they get you a win

Hope you have a great time. I was hoping to get over for the saints game ( i am in england). Am now in two minds as with the teams desperate play do i want to spend a considerable amount of cash to see this product, on the other hand tickets should be available and cheaper if the season continues in the same trajectory. Either way i'll probably have a few drinks and enjoy it anyway.

That's great! Enjoy. I will not spend that kind of money on this team until jerry shows us that we the fans matter and hears our voices.
