I know all looks bleak ... the season is done .. Dak is horrible ... Linehan needs to go .. Garrett is horrendous ... etc etc etc
But I don’t care .. I am going to Arlington next weekend for the first time and probably only time in my 50+ year life to see my Dallas Cowboys take on the Detroit lions .. I’m staying in the team hotel the Omni Frisco .. I’ll be meeting and greeting some of the Dallas Cowboys and cheerleaders .. hanging with some legends .. talking with Broadus .. touring the Frisco Star ... going to a VIP tailgate party , getting autographs and pics .. sitting in the lower rows of section 110 or 111.. walking the sidelines in pregame and much more including vip access to everywhere .. why ?? Because I am and will always be a Dallas Cowboy fan!!! No negativity or anyone / anything will ever change that !! I can’t wait to live a dream for just a weekend .. to root for my Dallas Cowboys as they play the Lions.. win lose or draw .. it doesn’t change a thing .. and before some say how dumb it is to do this .. I’ve seen worse as a fan .. I’ve seen worse in life .. I’ve lost more in life than a sports team losing a game that I love .. this year has built up to this moment next week .. to spend the weekend with my best friend in the world , my wife , watching my favorite sports team in the universe .. can’t beat it .. and as the weekend winds down .. after all the dust settles .. I will sit back and look up and say thank you !!! No matter what ... we lost family to cancer in the past months and more continue the fight ... this thing .. this game is just that .. a game .. a team that I love no matter what .. this little boy trapped in an older mans body many grays and wrinkles away from my childhood days ..many heartbreaks .. many frustrations and many celebrations with this team.. I will enjoy it .. I will cheer .. I will always be a Dallas Cowboy Fan !!! Go Cowboys !!!

Have a great buddy. Enjoy yourself. Just do what I do if the Cowboys are getting killed. Just laugh at how horrid Jerry Jones is. Talk to the other fans on how bad we are and have another drink. LOL

We went a couple years ago , I caught myself watching the jumbotron at times and wondered why?
If looking for fan gear, there is a Wal-mart right across from the parking lot, cant miss it.
You never see it when they do aerial shots during game from outside. Tons of clothing and such right when you first walk in. Also great party shuttles after game around stadium
I noticed during game against Eagles, even when the crowd makes noise, it really is not that deafening, should have been addressed when they built the place .

Totally agree with op. Some are too invested to the point of it taking over daily life

Can now see how those watching ancient roman gladiator fights while their society fell down around their ankles without them noticing.....its been a distraction and worse for 20 years

We have some passionate fans but when it comes down to it, it is just a game. (lots of "its"...sorry)

It isn't much fun watching them struggle but it is still football and quite a show.

Hope dude has a fantastic time. Dallas is a fun city. Just stay out of the Harry Hines area. lol

Excellent post. You've got it nailed - sports is enjoyed best because of who we get to experience it with. My dad took us to Cowboys games at the Cotton Bowl when I was a young whipper snapper and those memories have stayed with me my whole life. I remember select plays, but don't remember who won. That wasn't important, it was being with my dad. I've been blessed to be able to take him to many games at both Texas Stadium and AT&T and now my grandson. I hope you get to experience a good and entertaining game, be it win or lose (or course, a win would be better).

Hope you have a great time. I was hoping to get over for the saints game ( i am in england). Am now in two minds as with the teams desperate play do i want to spend a considerable amount of cash to see this product, on the other hand tickets should be available and cheaper if the season continues in the same trajectory. Either way i'll probably have a few drinks and enjoy it anyway.

By chance, are you the guy who's wife gave him a trip to see the 2016 Cowboys~Packers playoff game for Christmas and sat in Section 217?

Wow! Sounds like a hella expensive excursion. Jerry should greet you with a hand shake. For your sake, the cherry on the top would be getting the "w".

I agree, I will still watch every game. I will still yell and cuss and invest my heart and soul into every season. This is the team I love and honestly, I could never get to a point where I don't bleed silver and blue. I guess I'm part of the problem, lol.
