I wish Jerry would let me help him

Jerry is/has been so close to winning a Super Bowl several times since 2007 but has let his pet players and coaches sabotage what could/should have been.
I think Jerry deserves credit for putting some of the most talented rosters together in the NFL. And he would receive the credit if he had not poisoned each roster with his pets.
But his formula is sound; he builds a wall with his offensive line, puts speed at the receiver position and speed at the corner position.
Only his refusal to beef up the defensive line has been his Achilles heel in his formula.
But if he had not sabotaged his teams by putting his pets who were so spoiled they didn't face accountability at key positions, Jerry would have his rings.
I wish he would let me- or someone else who remembers the greatness this team once embodied- help.
And if you don't feel that way as a fan, then you don't understand what made this franchise great.

lee, you are the obvious choice to get this franchise headed in the right direction my friend. You are exactly what is needed.

Jerry accomplishes his goals every year. Why would he want to change it? Winning isn't a goal, competing isn't a goal. Its only about the money for him.

That building has no feel for when they are close & when they are miles away.

Paying Dak what they did has got to be one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen as well.

Isn’t he still the highest paid QB?
Dak is currently a top 5 QB. Dak carried the team this year when the team lacked so much and was amongst the worst. Dak should not have been paid so high, but Dak is not the problem.

Let me at those players for an offseason. I'll have them chute doggin and bustin broncs to toughen em up.

As bad as Big Enos and Little enos has been....letting some fans have input would make it worse.
Some think madden football rules apply. That saying a player is crappy and not worth keeping but thinking some other team would give top end draft picks to acquire him and not even considering the ramifications of the cap.

I think many fans have some good ideas that would help the team. Many see the obvious flaws to the FO's moves.

However to many fans who think they are realist are in no way shape or form realists. Accusing Jerry of letting his emotions towards a player cause a bad decision is fair, but they will not turn that mirror upon themselves to show that they too have emotions for a player that blinds them.

This past season has been a change for Jerry IMO. In the past Jerry would never have traded away one of his top drafted players. He would have let the negotiations linger on and eventually give into the contract demands at a rate that was much higher than what he could have had the player sign in previous months.

This time he let him go. And got pretty good trade value in return where old jerry would have gotten something like 2 second picks and maybe a third.

Also the idea of Jerry trading for a top level player at a good contract amount with the idea that they will keep him aka do another contract was a change. That is with both Q and Pickens, Clark might be another.

The real test will be this FA period. Will they stick to the dollar general products or will they be serious and get some good FAs that actually cost some money and are not on their last legs.

I am still weary that they will invest in some upper echelon FAs not drafted by the cowboys. Because that is the only way this will work. They just do not have the draft capital required to fix all of the woes on defense. It is going to have to be a mix of a good draft and a good FA period.

I would also say that this current search for a new DC seems to be a different approach than the past. If it was the same as the past they would find someone that has already worked for them and brought them in..Zimmer and Eberflus. Or they would have made sure it was a coach with HC exp...Nolan and Dan. Of those listed Dan was the only decent DC for this team. However this time they are casting a wider net and frankly seem to be looking more towards younger coaches with upsides and other teams are also interested in. Gannon is the only with HC exp and none of the top 4, at this time, have worked with the Jones. IOW someone they were comfortable with and knew they could control. This search seems like they are letting Schotty run it and that is a nice change.

So yes Jerry and Son inc have been terrible, and may continue to be terrible but at least it looks like some things are changing for the better. And as fans it is our normal routine to question the team, think about things that could make the team better...but when it comes down to it, chances are no team in the NFL would hire us to work for them in a role that would be able to make changes to a team. Does not mean we can not give advice, complain, think we are right.

As in, Dr. Kavorkian assist? :muttley:
I doubt the facade would be maintained long enough to avoid causing any suspicion...

"Hello, Mr. Jones. I will be doctor for today and only DAK! have your best interests in mind. You appear dehydrated, so we will start you off with a DAK! $240 MILLION! IV saline drip. Be assured, you will be feeling better in DAK! TRADE HIM FOR DRAFT PICKS! DAK! no time."
