The only way to ever wake the owners and players up is to tell them how pissed off we all are. A class action lawsuit on behalf of fans is a good idea but it would never go anywhere.

Who are you going to sue? I'm sick of hearing people saying it's millionaires arguing with billionaires. I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would side with the owners.

I can't understand for the life of me how anyone could side with the players.

I'd sue them both. I don't think the players are innocent here.

What have the players done exactly?

NOT given up millions of dollars and play 2 more games?

The owners want to pay them less money and play more games, when the league is making more money than ever. What if your boss said he was going to cut your pay and have you work Saturdays from now on? And with all the new stories about how unsafe the game is, it's making me feel bad to be a fan. Duerson shooting himself in the chest so his brain can be studied? That is absolutely horrific.

Make that billions. I have said it before big business has brainwashed the masses into throwing money at them every time they scream poverty. Love to see the owners get bent over.

And not handing over the audited financial records really seems outrageous. The whole, "let's just split the difference" thing was ridiculous. Let's take $640,000 or whatever it was from you guys instead of the billion. What a generous offer.

They hired that jack *** Smith who cares about nothing but turning this in to a big hooplah to make a name for himself

Doesn't sound like 18 games is really a factor in any of this at all, and I highly doubt that the players would make less money. Their overall wages might not increase as much as they had been, but less?? Very unlikely.

And since my pay is not salary based, if my boss told me to work on Saturday, I'd gladly take the overtime.

Here's what you can do tonight for fun and have your own version of NFL Bickering Roulette:

1. Drive to your local McDonald's, preferably one with a PlayPlace.
2. Announce you are giving away $100 hidden in 10 easter eggs. Some eggs will have a dollar, some will have $5, some will even have $20.
3. Hide said easter eggs out into the PlayPlace. Watch with delight as children rush for the eggs pushing each other and tackling each other all for the prospect of some free money.
4. Deal with the fallout as children complain why Timmy got $10 and they didn't get anything. Continue to tell them 'Tough luck, kid.' until they scream and run to their parents to do something about it.
5. Up and leave right as parents complain about what you did and how it was unfair. Say nothing, issue a press conference if you choose.

I don't have much sympathy for either side.

The owners are playing hardball, and they should be careful not to go overboard. But then again, I've never heard of a successful business model that by law required the owner of a business to give up a large percent of the revenue right off the top to a certain group of employees. The owners gave up too much last time and smaller market teams are getting hosed.

I don't like the 18 game thing, but that has already been ditched from what I've heard. In the perfect world , the owners would have 16 games and charge 1/2 price for pre-season games.

I do think the players need better medical benefits and I'd prefer a rookie cap but a higher min wage for vets.

I never understood the stereotype label of "big business". It's like people are think a big business is made up of some evil wizard behind a curtain, when in fact it is made almost totally of people like me an you.

The biggest businees by far in the US, for example, is the US government. Yet you hear people in favor oif that growing then turning around labeling non-govt big business as evil. ....moronic.

I am aboard Hos, to get a petition together and get cowboys fans as well as other NFL teams fans to sign, that have the guts to say, enough is enough. I am sick and tired of players and owners that raise the prices against us fans, and dont put a good product out on the field, because players sometimes dont really care, or want to work.

I look at this Hos, like our forefathers in United States that said at the boston tea party, enough of taxes, we have had enough and wont stand for anymore.

Who is with me, and has the guts to stand up and be counted, and let our voice be heard to the owners, NFLPA, NFL, and the players?

Time to stand up and be counted!

Empty stadiums, a boycott of sponsers and zero merchandise sales would send a message. Although the players would still get paid so scratch that.....

You're crackin' me up Joe. The NFL is an entertainment business. Nobody is forced to watch it...they could end it tomorrow if they wanted to.

But why kill the goose with the golden egg? Hopefully these bozos get that.

High ticket prices suck, but they are optional. Strikes and lockouts do to, but they have a right to do so as they are not a government run union like what will be overthrown in Wisconsin. People CAN choose not to subsidize it (the NFL).
They are not taxes.

In th elong run, it would work though. It's all based on captialism. If the dollars go away, so does the power.

I hope that does not happen though b/c the NFL rules!

even the players are inconsolable

thats where i disagree with you buddy. If enough people stood up and let their voice be heard, (like the shot that was fired and heard around the world), then something would be done.

what is the NFL really? Would the nfl be in operation today if fans werent there supporting them? NO!

Talk is cheap. Action is everything. Just like the boston tea party, our forefathers had enough, not just on taxes, but way england was trying to tell us how to run our country, what we could or could not do.

only when people have had enough, do things stop, but only when people are sick and tired of being treated a certain way, then do things change.

It always starts with one voice, then another, then another, till it snowballs. But you have to stand together, and let your voice be heard.

So, are we chicken like mice, or we men and women with a voice that will let our voice be heard, loud and clear, that we have had enough.

I am not very articulate with my wording or speech, but I will stand behind Hos, or anyone that will stand up, start a petition, get that to other NFL teams boards, so radio and tv stations gets ahold of this, and then Espn, NFl network gets ahold of it, as well as our congressman, etc...
