I wished everyone was as visibly upset as Ratliff is.

Just watched that. He was pissed.

I was a little disappointed he dodged the question when he was asked "Why do you think you guys are undisciplined." I would have liked to hear an answer, even if it was just a lame, PC answer.

I was really puzzled by his reaction as well...I couldn't tell if he was pissed at the reporter for asking it, or if he was pondering whether or not to lay it out on the table, before ultimately deciding to keep quiet.

But yes, Ratliff looked absolutely beside himself in that interview. I could have sworn he was almost about to tear up a few times...I also wish we had more players with his type of passion.

Well what is the answer? I don't see Ratliff committing dumb penalties. Only thing I can point to is that some of these guys simply lack poor football IQ. I don't see Ware committing these stupid penalties. I don't see Newman doing it. There's a select few that keep doing this nonsense every game. At some point they need to take responsibility for that.

I think he knew it was best to keep quiet and try to handle things internally. That is what leaders do...not the talking to the media like jenkins has been doing. Rat needs to step up and be more of a leader. He is one of the few that shows up to play every week. The penalties have to stop and if coaches won't hold players accountable then team leaders need to take control and put pressure on teammates.
 
Sadly there's only a handful of players on this team who give a damn like Ratliff.

He didn't have to skip it. Just say "The whole team needs to buckle down more and focus during each and every play." That would have been justifiable.

I'm thinking that for how visibly upset he was, he had something in mind to say but didn't want to say it b/c it would have done further damage.

Oh well....
 
I think that look said all that needs to be said.

I took from it that OBVIOUSLY an undisciplined team can only become disciplined via a discipline-enforcing coaching staff.

We have nothing like that.

He didnt say it, but the look on his face and in his eyes said way more than words could have. He knows EXACTLY what the problem is, and I suspect the rest of the players do as well.

This team has never respected Wade as a head coach, that much has been obvious since the '08 game in Philly. You have to wonder how long before they turn on him completely.
 
JRat looks like one pissed off mofo. Good. Hopefully the rest of the team takes the same attitude.

Amazing how two people can view something and take away two completely different things.

I watched his reaction. To me it seemed he was staring down the reporter with an "I know what you are trying to do" look.

Oh, and if you watch when he does the 'next question' thing again, pretty sure that was the same guy.

Kinda think Rat doesn't like whoever that guy is and his line of questioning. Or maybe what he knows he does with the answers he gets.
 
I may get flamed here and this may be totally wrong.

Ratliff is still probably a very good player, but I don't seem to remember as many big difference maker plays from him this year so far. Am I wrong?

Yes sir, you are wrong. ratliff is a beast in the middle of that line. He constantly battles through double teams. Even if he doesn't make a play directly, he plugs the middle up. Not to mention that's probably the dirtiest position on the field.

I feel there are guys that just don't understand the opportunity before them and don't have the fire in the like ratliff. Anybody see spears after he made a tackle? He was pissed coming to the sideline, and trying to get the 'other' guys fired up.

agreed. I saw a big hole for CJ, and all of a sudden it closed b/c Rat was able to shake loose his guy and just tackle CJ. That was an awesome play.
 
21 other guys like Ratliff and this team would be undefeated, period.

He gives me hope. He needs to kick some but in practice and on the field during the games!

But "us" includes first and foremost the coaching staff that cannot get this team ready to play!
 
I hope he starts calling people out. He's one of the guys with the fire who can actually back it up on the field to do so.
