I wonder if David Bakhtiari can still play?

If so, maybe big mike, the guy who drafted him could help get him signed. This way he can be a short term bridge until Guyton is ready,...hopefully by midseason. He can help mentor the kid and serve as our swing tackle once Guyton takes over.

If everything goes right you would end up with a pretty rugged O line with Guyton Smith Beebe Martin Steele as your starters and Bak as your swing.

Guyton being able to start at some point this season with a competent swing man at the ready is the key to the whole thing. If neither of those things happen the whole ball of wax goes down in flames fast.

They will want to see what they have and may move players around at different spots on the OL during OTA's.
Then go from there. If he can still play and can add value, then don't expect it until TC.

I think their cap "management" makes that option an impossibility. They need rookies to start, day one.

Cowboys fans   Stephen said the left side of the line is Guyton and Smith. You sink or swim with them.

Games played in the past 4 regular seasons:

25 of 68: David Bakhtiari

30 of 68: Tyron Smith

The Cowboys see Asim Richards or Matt Waletzko as their swing tackle. Chuma Edoga not so much since I don't think he's played on the right side, could be wrong.
