First, both of his sons were battling for NA, then his old team jumps in and screws us.

I can't help but think deep down he was laughing his butt off. Maybe not even that deep down, just not in front of his boys.

Who cares? Buddy Ryan is irrelevant!
I was just up late and thinking too much. I just think it was kinda ironic that his old team came in and got him. Heck buddy was such a mean old coot i wouldnt be surprised if he arranged the whole thing to screw his boys and us.

I never worry about what buffoons think.

Did buddy leave the Eagles is good terms. If I remember correctly he did not. I'm sure he hates the Eagles, Cowboys, Cardinals, and Bears. Pretty sure he burned bridges in every NFL city.

Was there real 'battling for NA' or media created?

"I wasn't supposed to be reading the papers, but hell, I read 'em, and that wasn't the deal," Ryan said. "A lot of those calls were trying to get ahold of (Marcus) Spears' and somebody else's (Kenyon Coleman's) agent. So 'man, there were a lot of phone calls to Nnamdi,' - but nah, that wasn't really true."

A little bit of both.

The media reported we were back in the race and the media made it seem that the Cowboys had landed Aso.

In reality the battle was only the Eagles and Jets with feints from Dallas and Arizona.

It was a media creation based on the very small interest Dallas had. Given Jerry's history you really can't blame the media for jumping the gun.

I think Buddy would have prefered his sons getting more talent then a rival of theirs. Both the Boys and Jets play the Eagles (the team that fired him) this season.

Here is my interpretation of it from what Jerry said on the radio and what the GM of the Eagles said.

Cowboys and Jets were fighting for his services. I think the Cowboys had a verbal agreement with Nnamdi on the phone (the fist pump was in regards to that) Jerry admitted to it on the radio. Eagles got a call from Nnamdi’s agent at the last minute telling them he was interested in playing for them. Eagles made an agreement with him without the Cowboys ever getting a chance to make another offer. Nnamdi did not want to play for the Cowboys for whatever reason (i think he either doesnt like the Cowboys or thought were were not a real contender) and found another team to go to.

I thought the Cardinals were his old team.

Buddy was thinking how thoughtful Rob was to call home in the middle of practice.
