I would like one thing from Dez

Although I appreciate his fire and his competitiveness, I would like just one thing taken away from his game that would (I think) add to his game: stop trying so hard.

I don't mean stop running smart routes or stop fighting for the ball. I mean stop trying to run to the end zone before the ball is in your hands (which causes drops) and stop fighting for that extra half yard every catch (which leads to fumbles). Sometimes you need that extra half yard for a 1st down or touchdown, but not every down. Know when to tuck that ball in your gut and know when to go down to protect the ball.

Agreed, I think right now he's overthinking everything and not just playing.

Honestly, its annoying, but its hard to be critical because its an error that comes from wanting so badly to win. He needs to play smarter at times, but its almost like he plays too hard, which is something I can live with.

I never want him to stop trying so hard. That's what you want all your players doing.

I want him to try hard but be smart and cover the ball up better. It's not a matter of trying to hard its simply a matter of simply securing the ball while trying hard.

If he sees more than 2 men, I think he should just go down, or out of bounds. he's powerful, but trying to take on 2 or more men, can lead to bad things. Injury or some type of turnover

Well, oddly enough he's not that bad. Calvin Johnson fumbles the ball when someone breaks wind near him. At least Dez isnt fumbling on a simple tackle.

Dez is my favorite player on this team but his overagressiveness does hurt him at times. He needs to "slow down" mentally and allow the coaching/football awareness aspects of his game to come naturally.

He's hard on himself, but i don't know if I would change that. Love that kid and love how Romo showed trust in him and fed him when the game was on the line.

He needs to learn to run through guys not go side to side. I love Dez but I can't stand when he gets it and tries to go side to side instead of putting his head down and go at the defender. Example last night on his fumble that went out of bounce.

This.

Marvin Harrison had a HOF career and his modis operandi was going out of bounds, avoiding contact, and hitting the dirt before defenders got to him. No shame in that approach -- you may lose a bit of YAC here and there, however, you avoid tons of big hits, wear and tear, and possibly add a bunch more games to the back end of your career.

Now I realize Harrison was a little guy and Dez is a physical beast, however, my point is I agree that Dez should sometimes just go down when two guys have their hands on him and live to fight another day.

I'm sure that has worked for him throughout his football career. In high school and college he was such a supreme athlete and so much metter than those around him, .. he could always get outside and around defenses.

Hopefully he will learn that he can not do that very often in the NFL.

I just want him to settle down. He's way too good for what seems like his emotions taking him out of games.

I think Dez's finger issue has affected him a little bit in his 'sloppiness'. I believe he tore some ligaments this year or last year.

Dez sure is getting a pass from you guys. He caused an int, had a huge fumble, and nearly cost them the game at the end with another. Witten had two TD's and isn't even getting a pat on the back or an "attaboy".

I hope it's not the finger. I believe the Doctors told him he should go on IR to let it heal or he risked some permanent damage and he elected to play anyway.

I haven't heard about the finger being an issue -- let's hope that's not it since last year was a bust anyway.

Yeah, his emotions took him out of two clutch 3rd down catches and what should have been game ending catch on his way to over 100 yards receiving.

Admittedly this is true.

I think it's part of the in the the new and out with the old mentality.

Truth of the matter is we are nearing the Dez's 4th year in the league. He isn't just some kid anymore. He has incredible talent and everyone is pulling for him, however, Dez seems to have entered the realm of 'untouchable by criticism' here on CZ.

Tough call but as of now I do not want him to change. He wants to dominate his opponents and has the physical skills to do it which is rare in the NFL. Sometimes you need to accept growing pains for the ultimate end goal which is Dez driving fear into opposing DBs and Defensive Coordinators. Dude plays with heart and I love it. I do not wonder if Dez gives 100%.

The one thing I would like to take from Dez is one of those Playstation 4 units he was buying fans at walmart. That would make it so much easier for me to choose Xbox One vs PS4.

Decisions decisions.

He didn't get one from me. He was terrible yesterday and almost cost us the game. He was big when it mattered though.
