.....and I begged and pleaded. Yes, I am a Memphis Tiger fan, but I am not a homer. I wrote to the scouting department and to Jerry Jones that if you don't draft Steven Gostkowski and DeAngelo Williams you are nuts.

Gostkowski could have been gotten for almost nothing, relatively speaking. What does it take? He kicks four field goals of 54 yards or more against Tennessee his senior year. Does that just go completely beyond the scouting department? Is it not worth something to have a great kicker? He just re signed with the Pats, and Cowboys could have gotten him.

And DeAngelo....he sinks to number 22 in the draft. And yes, other teams took runners ahead of him, such as Addai and Moroney. But the Cowboys are going to pass on the LEADING ALL PURPOSE YARDAGE LEADER IN COLLEGE HISTORY?
And one of the top three or four rushing yardage leaders? What were they possibly thinking?

I can almost somehow see that maybe Parcells wanted a bigger back, and though I did not agree, could understand it.

By the way, DeAngelo Williams, Jim Brown, and Marshall Faulk are the ONLY running backs in NFL history to have rushed for a 5.0 average three years in a row. That is what the Cowboys lost.

But there was NO REASON to pass on Gostkowski.

As long as Jerry thinks he can "find a kicker" for nothing, things will stay like they are.

Houston is a must game. An absolute MUST. Win that, the season will get turned around. Lose it and they will have to go 10-3 the rest of the way to make the playoffs. And Wade will be gone.

And Dallas isn't hurting at RB, in case you didn't notice. The problem is that with stupid penalties, some badly timed calls, it's had Garrett throwing the ball even more than he normally throws the ball.

DeAngelo Williams could be here and he wouldn't be doing what he does in Carolina cause he wouldn't be the focus of the offense in Dallas.

we emphasized the kicker position by giving Vanderjagt $2 million and then investing a 6th round pick on Nick Folk.

The 1st move was a disaster, the 2nd looked very promising and then Folk had surgery and lost his confidence. He seems to have regrained it in New York, but the Cowboys had to get rid of him last year. Had to.

At this point, do you bring in a Stover? Maybe. Beside the fact that Buehler is missing kicks, he's not getting touchbacks either.

Leroy Kelly, James Brooks, Dan Towler, Joe Perry and Chet Mutryn did it, too.

And we already had two young "starting" running backs at the time, so we weren't exactly looking to spend a first-round pick on another running back.

Um, there was plenty of reason to pass on Gostkowski. We had just signed the most accurate kicker in NFL history to a lucrative, three-year contract.

Beside the fact that Buehler is missing kicks, he's not getting touchbacks either.

Many of his kickoffs are going deep enough to get touchbacks, but if the opponent decides to run it out from 5 yards deep and get tackled inside the 20, there's not much you can do about that.
