I'd call Reddick and see what he wants

I guess my point is that after Parsons it’s a complete unknown at DE. Even before getting hurt Williams was so inconsistent. And we don’t really know what we have in Kneeland.

DE is a big need IMO.
Big relative to what?

and you are looking at a 31 yo 250 lbs WDE when we have Parsons. thus I said Golston made more sense.

I hope not. He was mauled last year. He is 3rd and long player only at this point. He's still a liability in the run game on 3rd and medium.

He got sacks & pressures and i didn’t notice him as a liability on the wide run game anymore then say # 11 .

Williams should not even be counted on other than a backup rotation piece. His unavailability is a hindrance if counted on for heavy reps.

His motivation seems to be only money. I am not sure I want that in the locker room. But like always, it never hurts to talk to a player and see what they want.

That's fine . We need role players like him. Everyone can't be well rounded. He gives us juice on passing downs.Wait, are you talking about Reddick or Lawson? I think Lawson should be here again.

Was Reddick dealing with an injury or anything last year? This is a pass first player who racked up just 1 sack in 10 games last year.

Is he still actually a quality player or is this just a familiar name fans want to scoop up?

Him wanting a big deal probably was more important

Maybe thats all it is and its more of the mental piece of this, but no one is going to give him a big payday after what seems to be a pretty lackluster 2024 after a holdout. Granted I havent watched any of the film on him and cant even remember watching him in a Jets game last year but his 2024 was basically a worse version of Carl Lawson.

For real.

DE is a position of real concern because DLaw is old and the Williams investment hasn't panned out.

And FWIW, I am no way advocating we sign him to a long term deal or anything like that. But keep your powder dry here. If he's floating out there in late April or May, see what kind of one year deal you can get here. Even if he's a situational guy for you, he makes your pass rush better.

Now if he's holding out for some big deal, you pass. But let's say he gets a bit desperate and you can get him for 1 year, like $7MM or so? Hell yeah.
