I'd rather have someone else at 3rd RB position

I know Polite is "smart" and "strong" and his biggest strength is that he knows the offense, and all those things that were the kiss of death prior to being released 3 times but....

If JJ or Barber get knicked up or even worse, badly hurt, I think we need a more talented option at RB as a share carries guy. Are there any small but talented guys out there that could step in for a game or two. Guys you are not worried because they aren't going to get 20 carries a game for 10 games. Someone that would jump at the chance to get pounded on for a game or two. Kincade didn't impress me.

What about Skyler Green. He was moved to RB no? Maybe he can do something there as the 3rd guy. Big dropoff from what we had with Thompson to what we have as options now.

It's nice to be worried about 3rd stringers, but I really feel the RB by committee system is working out fantastically for the boys this year and if one of JJ or Barber get dinged, well that system is out the window all of a sudden. Both JJ and Barber seem to be better RB's sharing time from what I can see.

Any guys on the street that might fit the bill. We are churning the rest of the bottom of the roster, but I think at this position the team has been a bit lax in looking for options for PS and in event of injury.

Any thoughts?

I thought Polite looked absolutely horrendous as an HB. Let him go and keep him gone already.

I think Parcells just loves him, and wants him to make the team anyway possible - and probably loves his response every time Bill cuts him and then picks him back up. I have no idea WHY we keep doing that, because I can't identify his role, even though Parcells claims he can play hoyte and Fasano's positions. He's a Parcells guy, I guess. It's not like Green has shown anything in his limited action - in whatever capacity.

Polite isn't dynamic, for sure.

On the bright side, though, he knows the offense and he functions as a backup FB and RB.

Good stuff. I guess it could happen. It happened to the Panthers a few years ago, but you could also worry about losing our 2 starting WR, or LT, or QB, or corners..... I try not to worry about things that are likely not to happen. Maybe naive, but I end up being much happier that way.

Troy Hambrick has to be available. Yes, I am joking. Well, mostly joking. If things got so bad that Dallas needed to sign someone off the street T-Ham would not be a bad choice. He knows the offense and knows how to pass protect. He was meant to be a back up and it is too bad he never realized that.

Right now Dallas is not a position to go find a top 3rd string back. Polite makes a decent 3rd string back. Most teams don't ask much out of the 3rd string guy. If a lot was needed from Polite, then yes Dallas will struggle. That would happen to most teams. I think New England is about the only team out there that utilizes 3 different backs consistently and could survive a game or two if the 1st and 2nd string guys got hurt.

I like big strong power guys that don't have moves. They remind me of well me. So what if he hits the hole on the way to the ground I just like big rumblers. I would trade both our backs for brandon jacobs in a heartbeat. Leave my sweet sweet lou alone!

lol.

do we really need this to be a concern at all?

we are using polite there now because he offers some S/T play and knows the offense.

tyson thompson will be back next season or we will have another rb there. polite is just a late season fill in at the bottom of the depth chart.

Well, I did say it's nice to be worried about 3rd stringer BUT.....

It should worry any fan that if JJ or Barber get dinged you'd have a backfield of Polite spelling JJ or Barber hehe. That isn't as sexy and makes u a tad more predictable.

Just saying is all, it's not like JJ is historically an Iron Man or anything.

I like Green and have hope for him in the future with this club but for now polite is a bigger help with his special teams play and ability to help on the offensive side of the ball.

you don't like Polite, yet you want to have a just-converted WR be our 3rd RB? doesn't make sense, because neither of the 2 are going to make a great RB, or even average one

Injuries are a part of the game. Thompson was our #3 until he got hurt. It's not like we didn't have a plan we are going with the best we have right now.
