I'd rather not go unbeaten the rest of season....

As much as it would be nice to post a 15-1 record, i would prefer not to go into the postseason with the very heavy expectations that would bring.
OK so if the Pats create history by going 16-0, good for them, but imagine the deal hat comes with hat - they would be on a hiding to nothing if they come unstuck against a more healthy Colts team or even a Chargers team that could find itself on a momentum building run into the post-season.

Lets clinch Homefield and keep players healthy - its been done in the past and will always be done again. The last game of the season against thr Commanders is a must win both for pride and to go "in with a win" but would we mind to much if we lost to the Panthers after clinching the didvision and home-field?? The pressure would be off a little.

Having said that to go 18-1 when all said and done hiaving beaten the Pats in SB would be nice for all the haters out there...........:laugh2:

I would rather win them all. However, a loss to the Panthers would do more harm than good. We may need that win to secure home field.

If we were to lose, let it be at Washington when we sit most of the starters, so they will hav ea cheap meaningless win. And we will be healthy. And on a winning roll going into that game.

Dude, we haven't done anything yet (as far as the playoff picture goes). We are still in a dog fight for homefield and the Giants are just a couple of games back in our own division. Lose to the Pack on Thursday and suddenly the division isn't even totally secure anymore. Way too early to start talking about this. We need to play every game like it is the most important one on the schedule.

Exactly. Way to soon to worry about going undefeated the rest of the way. Let's at least wait until we win the NFC East title before worrying about going undefeated the rest of the way.

Forget any factors that play into the topic of this thread.

Just read the title... who here honestly wants to lose another game this year?

No one I would hope.

From the WIW (What it's worth) Department, the 'Boys seem to have a "bad game" every 5th game: Buffalo was bad (but we won), Washington was bad (but we won) so the next "bad day" should be Carolina. We lost to the Pats, but we played well most of the game, so I don't count that as a "bad game".

I think it will be very difficult to beat the Packers as I feel we will have to beat the Refs as well, trying to send Brett out in style, for all the great games he's had. And that thinking may well carry over into the SB. After all Favre only has one win to his credit, the same as trent Dilfer and our own Brad Johnson.

Of course my ultimate fantasy is for our 17-1 Cowboys to beat the 18-0 Patriots in the SB. Man what karma!!!...

This team won't shy away from expectations, so it really wouldn't be an issue with them. This team expects to win a super bowl, not just play for one so while I doubt we win out, I'd welcome a 15-1 record.

Dallas has to keep winnig if GB is able to keep up with them. If Dallas loses a division game they are back at square one with the Pack if they win this week. May be forced to go 15-1.

Head to head trumps all other tie breakers. We win Thurs and GB has to have a better season record to get homefield. We have all but clinched the Division- we are effectively three games up on the Giants with 5 to play.

I hear what is being said... on both sides....

When it comes down to it....

as long as we go undefeated in this postseason... I think that will appease ALL parties.

Well... except for the ones that will somehow find a problem with that :laugh2:

If we are dominant, we will win every game. No need to hide from it... Great teams don't worry about moral victories and perhaps giving games away, we just go in every game, kick the snot of of teams and keep rolling.

We are already intimidating teams on offense, hopefully our defense can start intimidating teams as well.

Wouldnt it be great if the Pats were the last AFC team we lost to in the 2007-08 campaign :D (ala Jimmy Johnson and the Turkey Day loss to the Dolphins)

Ya I was thinking the same thing too much pressure. In fact I kinda hope they lose out. I'd rather back in to the playoffs as a wildcard with no expectations. Maybe no one will notice us and we can make a quite first round exit.
Who wants a Superbowl run with all that stress and pressure.;)

Pressure is the best thing going to keep these young Cowboys sharp. Having said that, you don't need to worry...I have a feeling they lose to the Packers next week.

That's right...I said it.

If the game is fairly officiated, I think we win. My main worry is we "get Chicago again". I am talking blatant one-sided officiating.

I am a little worried, I have watched alot of Packer games this year and it seems like they get ALL THE CALLS, even on the road. Maybe the refs want to send Farve out with another trip to the bowl or something.

Before I am called paranoid or making excuses, when was the last time a team went into both Mile High and Arrowhead and both home teams were raped by the refs??? These places are traditionally the hardest places to win in the NFL.;)

the haters can kiss the zit on my left butt-cheek. they don't rate and not worth my time.

Damn the torpedoes - full speed ahead!

If the Cowboys are a "team of destiny" - this will bear itself out in their ability to close out games down the stretch and through the Playoffs.

And if not - the season was still a MAJOR improvement over those of the past decade. Fan enthusiasm is rampant and there is REAL cause to suspect the team are long-term contenders for the crown.

So fire away Cowboys... hold NOTHING back... and let the chips fall where they may. 'Cuz if the stars don't align - this time, there really WILL be a next year. A very promising one. And not that "false hope" ether we've been under for so, so long.

It's a real cool time to be a Cowboys fan. I'm not gonna let anything undercut my complete enjoyment of this season. Whether the end is bitter or sweet - it already been memorable.
