This team wanted to play 2 TEs for years but it didn't work out with Bennett , fasano and Escobar.
That's the problem. They wouldnt promote Gronk over Jw Anyways. They gonna find some reason to keep #82 on the field every snap to sell groceries. The sad thing is y'all are trying to compare Gronk to Witten. Lmao. That's a joke right? There are no comparisons in talent to these Tes. Gronk is a hybrid te/wr who can line up on the outside. He is the most complete te and wr in football. He has deep ball capabilities, is a great blocker, a superb red zone player. He's a scoring machine who actually wins games as a receiver. Not to mention he draws double and triple teams away from the other skilled players. He's the most dominating scoring threat in the League and you're trying to compare him to Jason Witten. Jw is a decent blocker and a possession receiver but he's not a deep threat, red zone threat, can't play outside can't break a tackle. His receiving stats have no bearing on scoring or winning. He's bottom tier for a te that plays almost 100 percent of the snaps. Gronk would draw a first and a 2nd round pick in a trade. Someone must be drinking alcohol in the koolaide if you start comparing Witten to Gronk. Y'all talk like his three plays over 20 yards last year and his 4 tds a year playing every single passing snap is something more than mediocre and it's just mediocre at best Gronk puts up hundred-yard games with three touchdowns in a game that would take Jason Witten the whole year playing every snap. Gronk is one of those players you want to be out there on every single snap. Jason witten's just one of those guys you want out there to block not as a receiver unless you are the Dallas Cowboys. JJ Watt at te is a better red zone target than #82. I don't get the complete te references to Jw. He's not a deep threat, red zone threat, speed threat, or scoring theat, he has no yacs, no big plays over 20 yards much less 50 and Can't play outside under 10 yard avgs. What's so complete about that? Somebody please enlighten me. I'm not buying or drinking the koolaide that this is part of a winning formula.

This would give us value for at least 3 years.
Most 2nd rounders last 4 years anyway. Even the best aren't all pros for 3 of those years. Gronk could give us all pro production for 3 straight years.
Sure but what kind of message does that send to the team? He’s not willing to put in the effort required by Bellicheat but Dallas will take him?

I'd take Gronk for a first round pick in 2018 and give him Witten, Dez, Twill Hanna, Swaim, or any other of these overpaid overhyped Players we have on this team. Might throw in a 1st round for 2019 and 2020 if they'd take Dez and Witten off our hands. I like speed and versatility to play inside or outside and these guys just don't have the elite skillsets to play every snap without regressing our passing attack and scoring offense even further yet We resign him for a Lifetime and give him free reign to play every single snap.

Doesn't matter how many times you say that it doesn't make it true.
Gronk doesn't have to do all that blocking. He drags 3 guys down the field in coverage but if you lined Gronk and Witten up across from one another one on one Gronk would throw 82 around like a High School Te. Maybe 6 years ago 82 could block like Gronk. Now he can't even break a tackle for an extra yac. # 82 is about like Nolan Ryan. A terrific player whose character and Longevity far outweighed his actual winning abilities.
