He's an All Pro FB
Here or elsewhere Sequel is a guy who has lost what he had, is a 2.5 ypc player and has robbed us good.
If on any other team, Sequel would have been demoted, waived or traded for a plate of fish and chips.

Lo, but the sadness of it is we wring our hands all the time on whether to keep the washed up or not.

Zeke is a progress stopper. He should be released. I like Pollard and Davis better. Want to see more west coast passing concepts so protection won't be as big a concern and waste keeping a RB in to block.

with the possibility of Zeke being released, is there a FA RB Dallas should consider?

Jamaal Williams? Leonard Fornette?

I wouldn’t.

Pollard, Malik Davis, mid round draft pick.

That should be perfectly fine at RB

What Zeke is? He’s currently the worst football player in the NFL versus the money he’s paid.

David Montgomery just signed a 3/$18M contract, so I would say Zeke’s fair market value is around $4-5M per year.

Ingram is better, but its a fair comparison.
Ingram 8111 Zeke 8295

Zeke 7 years Mark 12 years

1000 yards Mark 3 times in his career Zeke 4 with three other 950 or better

So NO Mark Ingram is not on Zeke's level. Now on with the insults, don't make that BS you typed any more true but , well , we know how you guys do

It was a good run. For all the slack he takes, only 42 RBs in the history of the NFL have rushed for more yards than Zeke. Was hoping he’d hit 10k with Dallas but thats not in the cards. I honestly don’t want to see the guy do any more damage to himself.

He's essentially a decent goalline back and pass blocker.
You can sign a guy for around 2 million per year to fill that role.

I have a hard time quantifying what Zeke currently “is”. He’s no longer a dominant back, for sure. He’s not worth his cap hit. He is considered washed up by many.

Today I saw that Samaje Perine signed a two year deal for around 7.5 m total. Zeke seems to have lost his burst. But is Zeke without the burst roughly equivalent to Samaje Perine? That seems to be a reasonable comparison to me.

Any thoughts on this comparison and/or what Zeke’s value might be if he becomes a free agent?
Much of Zeke's remaining value would come from being a name to boost interest for a small market team. A poor man's Jerry Jones will want to sign him for the eyeballs.

At center, yes. Lol!

I think All Pro FB is as close a legitimate evaluation as possible. Was the best RB in the league and a top 10 player at 1 point.
Kyle F from 49ers is what an all pro FB looks like. Zeke ain’t anywhere close to that.

Zeke is a warrior though, the only problem is he’s now getting hurt way more. It’s like Romo his last few years, the team tried to do things to protect and it didn’t make a difference as he still got hurt. Same with Zeke, he played through injury in 21’ messing up the rest of his season. This season when he got hurt, they sat him to recover and he still played like he was hurt. It’s sad but it’s time they part ways. I wouldn’t have paid him what he wanted but I also wouldn’t have drafted him that high either. With that said I’m very glad he got his money.

You don't recover from a knee injury in 2 weeks.
He just played through a slightly less sore knee after some rest.

Zeke is a good player but his injury risk is quite high and the burst for a RB is simply gone by this time in their career.

He has vision and can block so that's worth something but it had to be cap cuetral versus what you'd owe to cut him IMO.
And if you are Zeke is it worth 5M to take even more pounding.
Was not worth it for Marion Barber and many others.

So many sorry people want to bag on him instead of feeling sympathy for what his health will be the rest of his life.

history has nothing to do with it. Its about how they play now. That was the comparison.

If your going to jump into a conversation at least understand what the conversation is about.
