Then who do we cheer for when GB goes to Caro? With Rodgers first game back, I could see him going to Carolina and lighting up the Panthers suspect D. I would think we still pull for Pack this week over Panthers, as we really need them to lose 2, and GB just to lose 1 down the stretch, correct?

I think you have to root for GB to lose each week (unless they lose to Carolina, then you need to root for them to beat Detroit). It would be nice for Carolina to slide but I think they would have to lose their last 3 for it to actually benefit us. I'd rather Carolina get hot and beat Atlanta. Then we just need to pray the Saints can do so the week before.

Several scenarios..which one is best and more likely.

GB beats Carolina, Minnesota beats GB, GB beats Detroit. But then Atlanta needs to lose 2 as well against TB, NO, Carolina.

Carolina beats GB, both NO and Carolina beat Atlanta, and Detroit needs to lose a game as well to Chicago, Cincinnati or GB, or a loss of Atlanta to TB plus lose another.

The Packers own the head-to-head tiebreaker against the Cowboys, so I would root against them at least until they fall one game behind the Cowboys.

Damn Jake. Well said my man.

:muttley:

I wasn't so much going for profound as I'm just waiting - waiting to see if the Cowboys win the next 2 and what needs to occur in week 17 if that happens.

But right now there are so many ways things can go with regards to other teams and none of it matters if we don't get to 9-6 before heading to Philly.

He may Get taken to the turf and Romo's his clavicle twice in one season.

I don't worry about that stuff.

If the Cowboys don't make it as wildcard, then they just were not good enough and unlikely to do much in the playoffs anyway.

If they were playing for the division vs being a wildcard, then I would be more concerned.

Carolina has a suspect defense?

The Cowboys don't control their own destiny so "just rooting for the Cowboys and whatever else happens, happens" isn't good enough. We need certain teams to lose a certain amount of games in just 3 weeks. We need the Panthers to lose two games so, as much as it seems to pain some of you, we need the Packers to beat them. The Packers just have to lose one game for us to leap frog them.

Yep..

I'm still confused by all of the scenarios though.

We need both Atlanta and Carolina to lose 2 games or just one of them?

One of them for sure. Both would open up more possibilities. If GB won this week (coming up) and lost the next week and Chicago plays this week like they did yesterday, that would really be nice.

If green bay beats Carolina and new Orleans beats Atlanta, then the final game between Atlanta and Carolina will give one of those teams 2 losses in the final 3 games. I don't see green bay running the table as they have Minnesota and Detroit to deal with. However.........

Who wins the tie breaker if Dallas, Carolina, and Green Bay are all tied at 10-6????

Edit: Throw Seattle in there too! Can anyone breakdown the conference records?

Seattle is out if we run the table.

Multi tie would be best as most everybody else's lost came from NFC. Dallas losing to Chargers and Broncos might actually help

NIck Eatman just mentioned (on today's episode of The Break) that if Atlanta only loses one more and the Cowboys win out and there is a 3 way tie between Dallas, Atlanta, and another team that Dallas would actually leap frog Atlanta, though he didn't expand upon who that third team was. I believe there was an inverse scenario where if Dallas beats Seattle but ends up in a 3 way tie with them that Seattle would leap frog Dallas. So, as many have said, it might be best to just focus on winning the next 2 and see where the scenarios leave us going into week 17. The good news for this week is that no matter who wins in the Green Bay vs. Carolina game the Cowboys could potentially benefit. Though I'd like to see the Packers go ahead and get knocked out to be safe.
