If Anquan Boldin is traded for a 3rd...

Like Corey Dillon was a 2nd, and we don't go after him. I'd be furious.

Even if he is traded for a 2nd I would be pretty mad. There is no receiver who is going to be as good as him for this year in the coming draft.

He is just the possession receiver we need.

70% or higher reception percentage every year over the last 3 years...

Roy Williams peaked at 66.2 in 2007 (over the last 3 years). 45.2% in 2008. 45.2% in 2009.

I don't want to give up on Roy Williams, but this is almost ridiculous when you compare the two players.

Boldin gives you time to draft a real #2 receiver. AND gets you over the hump on offense....

Just think about this...

Witten - 78.8
Boldin - 70%
Austin - 67.5%
Ogletree - I dont really want to put his 88.9 out there since its such a small sample but I like him as the 3rd receiver.

Hell I would even say keep Sam Hurd at that point.

I don't know what we can give Arizona. Hell maybe we can bundle Roy Williams who is younger than Boldin. As for his contract maybe he could restructure. His agent would have to know he isn't going to make bank in the free agent market.

I think moving past Williams and Crayton is very Romo friendly...

Crayton 58.3% catch percentage

Getting Boldin puts Romo in the same category as Peyton Manning and Drew Brees. And to me its to the point where you just cut your losses with Roy Williams, whats done is done. If he can help us get Boldin great. If not just release him.

Just thinking about what this offense could be with younger offensive linemen, Felix Jones as a primary running back, and Anquan Boldin instead of Roy Williams.

The only thing is that Boldin probably wants to be the number 1 wideout. I'm guessing he wants to be the main man. IF that's the case, he may want to go to a team like Miami, for example, where he'd be the primary receiver.

I'm just taking a guess here . . . .

Its not like he is the #1 receiver in Arizona...

I don't think this is a big deal.

I really hope we don't take the once bitten twice shy approach here.

Here is a player who will ACTUALLY help us.

The reason they're trading Boldin is because he wants #1 money - Fitz money.

We're not going to give him that, so what's the point of trading for him?

Which is why he wants out. He wants to be a #1 and get paid like one.

So how would he accept being the third wideout? Not very well, I would expect.

Well you might as well get mad... Jerry made an impulse decision on Roy a year and a half ago and it hasnt turned out the way we wanted or the way he expected but Boldin wants number 1 money. One of the other posters pointed this out already but hes very injury prone and its very much buyer beware. Our WR core IMO will be very good this next year. Were set...

I think that's way more money than even Jerry could swallow on one position.

let me repeat this 5 time. Boldin will not be in dallas. Boldin will not be in dallas. Boldin will not be in dallas. Boldin will not be in dallas. Boldin will not be in dallas. He will probably go to Philly or even Commanders (oh yeah I can see that happening). with Jackson and Mclain I doubt if philly now wold be in the market, but chicago has a grave need at WR and they may go after him. other teams that may have interest in him include Atlanta (to pair with White and gonzalez) and obviously the jets who need a security blanket at WR. but jones will not pay him the millions he is asking, with RW on the team already and having to eventually bone up for Austin.
