Like Corey Dillon was a 2nd, and we don't go after him. I'd be furious.
Even if he is traded for a 2nd I would be pretty mad. There is no receiver who is going to be as good as him for this year in the coming draft.
He is just the possession receiver we need.
70% or higher reception percentage every year over the last 3 years...
Roy Williams peaked at 66.2 in 2007 (over the last 3 years). 45.2% in 2008. 45.2% in 2009.
I don't want to give up on Roy Williams, but this is almost ridiculous when you compare the two players.
Boldin gives you time to draft a real #2 receiver. AND gets you over the hump on offense....
Just think about this...
Witten - 78.8
Boldin - 70%
Austin - 67.5%
Ogletree - I dont really want to put his 88.9 out there since its such a small sample but I like him as the 3rd receiver.
Hell I would even say keep Sam Hurd at that point.
I don't know what we can give Arizona. Hell maybe we can bundle Roy Williams who is younger than Boldin. As for his contract maybe he could restructure. His agent would have to know he isn't going to make bank in the free agent market.
I think moving past Williams and Crayton is very Romo friendly...
Crayton 58.3% catch percentage
Getting Boldin puts Romo in the same category as Peyton Manning and Drew Brees. And to me its to the point where you just cut your losses with Roy Williams, whats done is done. If he can help us get Boldin great. If not just release him.
Just thinking about what this offense could be with younger offensive linemen, Felix Jones as a primary running back, and Anquan Boldin instead of Roy Williams.
