If LA sign do we draft LenDale White as our powerback in the first or Chad Jackson to be our slot in the first

and in the second draft Pat Watkins or Darnell Bing or just draft Maurice Stovall..

We won't get Arrington, but assuming we do. We're going to look to trade down in the Draft no matter what. Jerry wants added picks. This is a deep draft at areas of real need.

If we added a LB and stayed at 18 we probably draft Chad Jackson or Santonio Holmes.

we wont be signing Arrington

and regardless of who we sign, there is no way they are drafting a RB, especially on the first day

I can tell you positively from what I've read that selecting Chad Jackson ahead of Santonio Holmes would be a huge mistake...they are not in the same league. Holmes is going to be a real impact player for someone...if he drops to #18 due to other teams' needs, we'd better jump all over him.

Jackson only has measurables...not a body of actual accomplishments, nor was he even a deep threat at Florida.

Holmes has the numbers and is a threat to score from anywhere.

I think if we do sign Arrington which I doubt, I still think we reserve the right to Draft Manny Lawson... just in case Lavar goes down..

I say it should be like this

1st:: LenDale White/Manny Lawson/or Chad Jackson
2nd:: Pat Watkins/Maurice Stovall/or Sinorice Moss

False.

Chad Jackson was a junior who caught 88 balls for 900 yards and 9tds. His average was 10.2 because he caught a lot of short passes but he had an 80 yard td with his 4.32 speed.:D He had a 22.3 avg per reception as a sophomore with an 81 yard td. He is a complete receiver who can do it all.

Santonio Holmes who is also a good receiver but more of a deep receiver in a Terry Glenn mold had 53 catches for 977 yard and 11 tds as a junior. He had an 85 yard td.

Holmes stock is dropping despite his speed, and Jackson's is soaring because he rocked at the combine on the heels of a huge yr at Florida...

Jackson will probably be the 1st WR picked

I like Holmes too however

If Lavar is signed (what a big if), then OL, OL, QB, FB/OL, OL/FB, and WR/DB.

You have got to get replacements for Flozell and Rivera, and maybe even a starter.

I am surprised that no one has mentioned the fact that Goose has said we are looking strongly at Justice from USC... the most accurate draft reporter tells us we are looking at a player at one of our most needed positions and we just seem to brush it off... wierd. if a wr, lb, and ol are all there, we take justice in a heartbeat. now... if huff and justice are there, who knows.

I know...I keep thinking it wouldnt be a shock...Justice probably starts from day one at RT...Fabini becomes a swing backup and insurance for Flo and if Jsutive struggles..down the road a yr or two Justice prob moves to LT, maybe we flip Flo ro RT

and I've seen many who rate Justice close to a top-10 pick...if he is rated there on Dallas' board and is there at 18, wont surprise me in the least if we take him

They are scouting all the OL.

There are other reports that the Cowboys don't think any OL are worthy of #18, but the depth is 3 rounds deep and that they prefer to get one in the second or third round.

I agree with this. I think Jackson is going to be a heck of a receiver for somebody. I think he's got a better chance of being a #1 WR then does Holmes. IMO, Holmes is a slightly lessor version of Terry Glenn. Schools are even right. Terry is an excellent receiver but I would not characterize him as a number 1 receiver if only because of the fact that he can bet nicked up if he's used too much. JMO of course.

Even if he isn't signed I still think our priority will be OL going in, that's never changed for me, I just think everything we're hearing towards other positions is just smokescreen. I figured it was either going to go one of two ways, we hit the OL bigtime in the free agency market (which we did not) or we blindside the draft for OL. And I feel much better going this way, spending the money in FA for our skill positions, ie. kicker and wide reciever. Less guess work, now lets get some hungry giants from the draft to come in here and fix our OL woes. #18 and Rd2 go to the OL, with a prediction of us possibly even moving up in Rd2 to grab that Jean-Gilles if he's still hanging around when someone we could do business with comes around to pick.

Would anyone consider trading up if Leinart, Young or Cutler fell to 12-15?

I think I would consider it depending on how much we had to give up.. I wouldn't mind losing a 3rd rounder. I would also consider trading down to the early second and picking up a guy like Whitehurst who has some upside. I know the QB debate is old, but if Henson doesn't show something by draft time I think we have to make a move there. Bledsoe isn't getting any younger and we will need to draft someone eventually...
