If Barber doesn't fumble, Romo doesn't get hurt

Choke? Nevermind that one guy was pulling his left arm and that a Commanders guy actually made a good play and punched the ball out. IT was a good defensive play, not a "choke."

Choke is throwing the ball up in the air to the middle of the field as you're getting sacked.

Classic case of someone having a previous prejudice against a player and then making a stupid thread about something so petty.

Barber really should be the short yardage back and finisher. Due to the injury to Felix, he is our starter and main back.

If Felix could pickup the blitz better and weren't injured, he should be the starter. I hope that we just make him the starter next year because his big play potential out of the backfield adds a dimension that this offense needs to take it to the next level.

Choice gets lost in the shuffle, unfortunately. I think he is the most complete of the 3 backs and probably is a better player than Barber. Both Felix and Barber have to be out for him to get touches so we'll never see what he is capable of. I would dangle him as trade bait next year and draft another young back.

Someone has to call out Barber for his MAJOR screw up.

You CANNOT fumble the ball in that situation!

What situation? The first quarter of a scoreless game, just 8 minutes in? Really? In what situations CAN you fumble?

And why exactly does someone have to "call out Barber"? Do you think he doesn't realize that fumbles are bad?

I'm sorry, but you're being completely ridiculous. Players fumble. It happens.

To answer the question. If Barber doesn't fumble I don't think that Romo would've got hurt, but the chances was still there for him to get hurt but not in the way he did trying to make that tackle.

Are you ever going to answer my question?

Sorry, it was late last night and I was busy at work this morning.

But, to your question: Romo hurt his back. He was in pain the whole game. He needed a pain shot and 45 minutes of therapy and then walked gingerly to the press conference. That was on Sunday afternoon. Romo said he would not be able to practice if a practice were held on Monday. Also, Romo said (I believe) that he may not be able to practice on Tues and Wed. So, one can deduce that Romo "may" not be able to play on Thursday.

And if Romo can't play on Thursday, that fumble looms even larger. And if the Cowboys lose because Romo can't play, that fumble looms even larger. And if the Cowboys miss the playoffs by one game, that fumble was a colossal screwup.

Look back at last year and the AZ game. One screwup missing his block led to Romo getting sacked ans breaking his pinkie and missing the next treee games.

Barber has to hold that ball at all costs. He is the supposed warrior. He can't be choking and fumbling especially in the red zone.

Romo gets hurt on the tackle and has to play with pain the whole game because Barber can't hold the ball.

And now Romo "may" be out for the Oakland game.

**** happens, I hate when people play the what if's game...

I agree. Dealing with whatever comes up is as much a part of the game as calling and running plays. For every "what if" we have the opponent also has what ifs.

Romo did not sound like a guy who is going to miss Thursday game during the post game. He said it hurt but at no time felt he needed to sit. No doubt he is going to be sore today but I'm sure the trainers will tend to the bruise and have him ready to go.

is there a minimum age requirement on this board?

and if Suisham makes one of those field goals we loose, what's the point in discussing what "if's"

Saved 10 yards genius

I think the more important issue is that had he not fumbled, we would have scored on the drive and had more reason to stick with the run game. Then Garett would have realized that running the ball will be the key if this team is going to have any success.

doesnt he have a fractured thumb? im surprised he has gone this long without a fumble with that injury

I know what you mean. If that OC hadn't called the play and the tackler would not have tackled . . . I blame those two also.

If you are talking about the 4th down try, Romo did that because MB3 missed the blitzer. Plus, if I remember right, we couldn't run out the clock at the end of the game, which is something MB3 is in there for.

Don't get me wrong I am a big MB3 fan, I loved the role he played two years ago.

But if he is in there instead of Choice because he doesn't fumble, picks up the blitz better, and is money when we need to run out the clock, .. then Choice deserves a chance to be "the back" sometimes too.

MB3 would be an awesome Fullback in the "I" formation, but there are qualities that a tailback should have that he doesn't have.

As John Lennon would say, "all we are saying, is give Choice a chance."
