If Bill Parcells where still here would we have drafted Brady Quinn?

I doubt it...but if he did...he'd have Quinn looking like a robot in a couple of years and completely would have destroyed him.

He confided in Lacewell and Switzer also.

Phillips, Ireland, Jones, Lacewell, Switzer & Parcells.

Pretty good company, ... decades of NFL draft experience.

Thank you Jerry.

Due diligence required it!

Jerry also channelled Knute Rockne.

He'd have drafted Spencer, too. The last draft smells just like Parcells. Not sure about the kicker. Heck, even I had Spencer on my mock and I ranted and raved about drafting a DB with the first pick.

I don't know if Bill would have drafted down then back up. That smells like Jerry. And right now I'd give ole Jerry the applause. We'll see if he deserves it three years from now.

JMO though. Ask Bill.

Riddle me this. If BP was still here and drafted another LBer in the first round, would it have been as acceptable as it has been with Wade being here?

Somehow, I think I already know the answer to this one.

1 - we can agree he wouldn't have. : )
2 - no idea what he'd have quinn doing. parcells has "his way" of doing things and when it works, it's great (like for any of us) and when it doesn't it's crap (like for many of us). if quinn is tougher mentally then he could handle parcells.
3 - talk to parcells about not having time to develop one - those were his words when he got here *as i recall* and no, i'm not gonna go look 'em up cause in the end that rarely matters - people believe what they want to.
4 - riddle answer - who cares? wade gets a clean slate and gets to build up from there. if next year we take 1 or 2 more LB's in the 1st, yes - i'll get mad. i'm an equal opportunity get madder type of a person. : )

it took 2 years and 3 wasted games to me before i hated parcells. wouldn't it be just as "unfair" if i carried that "bias" to someone who'd never made a move as a coach yet?

good points jack and yes, parcells in the end did a great job on romo. i've said so quite a few times and had my crow samm'ich. guess you missed the picnic.

Purcells would have traded all our picks away for 20 extra 7th round picks, which he would have spent all on TE's from boston college and rutgers

only if they were friends of the family or former players kids or italian from the waiste down.

I live in Florida and my Dad ran into Bill after the Draft. He said that he liked Brady Quinn and thought he could have been a good QB. He also said that he wasn't completely sold on Romo. I don't know if he would have drafted Quinn, but he would have taken a good look at him.

OK ..... thanks for the info.

As for me ..... I do not think that Bill would have taken Quinn. ANd I think he was completely sold on Romo.

We'd have heard the hell out of it. We already hear enough from people bashing Jerry for picks that Ireland is giddy over. If Parcells had drafted a LB, two linemen (injury concerns or no) and a potential return-man....oh - hell on earth.

except that the LB was yet again "a family connection", the return man was a *** from the word go and i never heard stories of parcells getting a call saying "you took our guy!!!" like i have on this "return" guy and the OL we drafted *this year* were at least scheduled to be drafted.

we can spin this all day long but in reality, this is wades 1st year and his "patterns" have not shown up (if he has 'em) and he's not been facinated yet by a single position.

i'll also wager phillips has a better relationship w/the media and doesn't come across the lost arse all the time.

Well, isn't that just special. Like I said, if Parcells had made THESE picks....

I am gonna miss how Bill handled the Media .... the guy pissed them off so bad .... I loved every second of it.

had he made these picks i'd be darn happy. he drafted quality OL, yea, i'd give grief for yet ANOTHER LB, i'd be just as happy with clevelands 1st rounder next year and as for the rest of our draft - whatever. we'll see what happens.

some people just don't get that parcells shoved a lot of people the wrong way and keep insisting parcells is mr happy all should love or something.

it ain't that big a deal - not everyone liked parcells and unfortunately, there are some who will defend him to the annoying ware vs. merriman debate levels.
