big_neil said:It's no longer a game here or there that Drew wins - he has played solid for over a year now. Even before. The Bills should never have started 0-4 last year.
Game 1: On opening day, the Bills led the Jaguars with under a minute to play. They converted 3 4th down plays, the last of which was a touchdown as time expired.
Game 4: Versus the Jets they trailed 13-0 in the 4th quarter when Drew (Brunell style) threw two bombs for TDs and the Bills led 14-13 with two minutes to play. But the defense didn't hold it. Drew ended up going in and throwing a Hail Mary interception at the end. And people wrote in on the Bills boards to say "Why does Drew throw so many interceptions?"
thats7 said:Drew did nothing but play his arse off for a crap team offensively. Injuries aside, they weren't a very good team. The owner himself admitted as such. To critique Drew with the Bills would be a tough task. I'd find it hard to group the coaching staff of the Bills together and syncronize a road map for the future. I mean, nobody was on the same page here and all Drew was trying to do was win some games in the process. What a mess. The best thing that ever happened to Drew was the termination of his services in Buffalo.
I really don't see what's so "amazing" about it Nors. It happens to players all the time.Nors said:It's amazing the put downs on Bledsoe. Here's a 33 year old guy, #1 overall pick that started at age 20 for Parcells and won 2 AFC Champ Games and he's viewed as a failure.
In fact near 50,000 yards career passing - a fete 3 have done....
Bledsoe went 9-3 last year and is 6-3 this year. Thats a 15-6 record. What's scarry is I think we can play better down the stretch.
Its all about that #2 seed.....
I agree, most of them are silly. It doesn't change the fact that people are not going to be wide eyed with wonder and sipping Koolaid because we have a good QB. They're going to say what they think. Even if what they think is wrong. We all do it. What is there to be amazed about?Nors said:And most of those statements are indeed silly and amaze me
Thanks for proving my point
I know you don't think like me.Nors said:I don't think like you
I think that most of the Bledsoe doubters bought a skewed opinion on said player into his arrival here day 1. I had a very high opinion on Bledsoe's talent and ability to perform at a very high level based on seeing him play in person for a decade.
What amazes me was and sometimes is the opinion the guy was/is a scrub. Parcells snapped Bledsoe up in a New York minute.
Bledsoe is not yet on that list above. But you swap out a Super Bowl for some of them and Drew gets one he's not only on that list - but top 10 on that list.
At the end of the day I'm just happy Drew is getting that shot here in Big D and making the most of it. A lot of work ahead still.

Dan Marino, never won a Super Bowl. You haven't heard that?
Joe Montana, couldn't throw beyond 10 yards. You haven't heard that?
John Elway, never won anything until Terrell Davis arrived. You haven't heard that?
Peyton Manning, has never won a big game. You haven't heard that?
Brett Favre, throws too many picks. You haven't heard that?
Donovan McNabb, can't throw the deep ball, just dinks and dunks. You haven't heard that?
Steve Young, a product of the WCO and Bill Walsh's system. You haven't heard that?
Dan Fouts, only good because of Air Coryell. You haven't heard that?
Troy Aikman, average QB on a great team. You haven't heard that?
Terry Bradshaw, average QB on a great team. You haven't heard that?
You name the QB and I'll show you doubts raised about him. Why should Drew Bledsoe be any different?
If you don't want to see doubts raised I suggest eyes closed and fingers in ears or impersonate an ostrich. Want me to send you some sand?
I'd say it almost always works both ways.fortdick said:So, would you ssay that Bledsoe is having a good year because the team makes him better, or is he making the team better? Unlike those QBs that had a team around them, my opinion is the team is better because Bledsoe is around them!
