If Blue is legit

You could even go Blue, Mafah, Luepke, and Vaughn. In some situations, you could have more than one on the field at a time -- like Blue in the slot. Or Luepke as an H-back.

Or even Williams. Somehow, I think the Cowboys end up parting ways with the vets and try to get younger at the position.
Totally agree that is 4 young good looking running backs and with this Oline I like the chances of the run game being a good one.I can see using different combinations Leupke at fullback and Mafah at tail back in short yardage and goal line .Blue could run wild just with a little crease but I think this line will open some holes for these backs. When Lamb and Pickens are on the field together running down field and you have Turpin in at the same time, their will be some running lanes down the field .With Blue's speed running lanes down the field could get entertaining. I like what Schottenheimer and his staff are envisioning ,pulling guards with power and speed at running back and elite Wide Receiver play to go with it.

My problem with Blue is that his biggest flaw may make him unplayable. That being ball security. If he cant improve that, he may not see the field much

Thats why Im for a trade for a HB. We dont have a bankable starter on the roster right now. If Blue can improve his ball security, I have zero issues giving him 200-250 carries. However, I want a bankable starter incase that doesnt happen. Sanders and Williams are not that. Unless they are looking for a 3rd or 4th, I wouldn't have shut the door on Hall
He has small hands.

RB coach can teach him how to carry.

Pickens isn’t known for run blocking.

He’s a head case too.

If we can block we should be fine at RB.

Volume and blocking will get a ton of production from most of these guys.

Most teams don’t give their RBs volume and NFL offensive lines are really bad in general.
the video on klayton adams posted earlier, and his success with marlon mack was eye opening.

I wouldn’t expect dominant first year together.

Amazes me why more fans can’t just wait and see how it develops before making such claims.
how is assuming they wont be any different? it's not a bold claim or far fetched imo.

It matters because he was the blind side protector, similar to the OLT position for a right hander.

Guyton has some serious skills, it's just a matter of him adjusting to the footwork. The changes should just be a matter of time. I mean, Guyton has top 5 OLT skills. Yes, he was bad last year, but he shouldn't have been thrust into the starting role as a rook. Stupid Jerry, should've signed an OLT vet until Guyton was ready. I hope they didn't ruin him by playing him too soon. Sometimes you do, and sometimes the player gets the experience he needs to improve there. Just hoping it's the latter.
My fault, just now getting around to reading this thread…

I know you like Guyton so I’ll ask…I thought he looked a bit thin for an NFL tackle. Was it footwork more than strength? I really can’t tell and won’t pretend to try to be able to assess that. Maybe I’m just used to Tyron who looks like some type of robot lol.

He has said he is more comfortable on the left side so I’ll have to take him at his word, but could be just saying that. Fans tend to think that guys can just switch sides with no problem. I’ve heard players say it doesn’t matter, and others say it’s like trying to do all basic activity with your opposite hand. Everyone is different. I never played OL at any level but it would make a difference if it were me. Would want my dominant side on the outside.

Meanwhile I can’t shake the feeling that draft status and a big contract are what is going to determine who the starting tackles are. They’ve gotta get that right somehow. Can’t shake the feeling that the third best LT on the team is going to be the starter with a physically limited QB.

The makings of a high level offense are there. Now obviously there are a lot of unknowns - what kind of coach Shotty is, can Pickens not implode, etc.

Assuming most of the questions are answered positively you have a potentially good to great OL (although I still have issues with Steele), you have a quality WR corps now, a quality starting TE and if Blue is as good as some claim, you make potential at RB.

That then leaves the QB. Fingers crossed.
Seems like most positive post about the cowboys on here are assuming/hoping about 12 things all break in our favor.
When has that happened for us in the past?
It seems we have more unexpected problems than things breaking our way around here recently.
