I know he's not a great fit in our system, and more than likely this is just message board fodder as most likely he will be gone before then BUT if he does fall, do you take him?

I would, as if he can make the transition & can live up to his potential, we would have 3 of the best pass rushers in the league with Ware, Bowers and Ratliff... and don't even get me started if Spencer can get back to late 2009 form, we'd have one of the greatest pass rushes of all time in that case.

Just no way, I am really intrigued to see when he does go, 2nd round might be too high to risk. And a lot of teams took him off their boards, we'll see how low he can go.

If he falls to 42 I don't care who takes him.

Don't we pick 40........it would be hard 2 draft him @ 42

IMO Risking the #40 pick is worth it for a top 3 talent in the draft.

He is damaged and might be damaged beyond repair. Don't buy a Toyota(ok fine a Lexus)that was recently in a Tsunami at any price. :D

No, he's a major injury question mark and he doesnt fit the scheme

Detroit will trade up to grab him and add more talent to that DL.

That would be scary. Detriot would be my NFC north favs over the Packers in that case.

It is tempting, but what I've read, that knee is really bad. If we didn't have any other strong needs to fill, I would say yes. But I don't think he will be a full time player for any team in this league, at least not for a few years. I will have to pass on him.

I take him, the knee problems are there, he might not fit in our system on defense very well, but he's one of those guys that if he's there you've got to take him.

Different sport but similar circumstances. DeJuan Blair out of Pittsburgh has no ACLs and he dropped to the middle of the second round to the Spurs when he would've easily been a lottery pick. That kid played good basketball last year.

Bowers, at 280+, isn't far off our scheme at all. He's more a powerful, unblockable penetrator than he is a speedy edge rusher.

I'd take him in a heartbeat at 40...imagine him taking the rotational spot Bowen had as the designated pass rush specialist from the 3-4 DE. Top 10, he has to be an every down player. At #40, he could be extended as a situational pass rusher and really make a difference.

Agreed- 100%

If the doctors said no, then no.

That's before you even get into the fact that he doesn't fit in a 3-4.

He'd be a steal. Many had him picked in the top 5. We could make it work.

No. It doesn't matter how much talent he has if he can't play. This is like drafting Stephen Hodge, only the risk is much higher since the draft pick is much higher.
