If Cowboys plan franchising any player,.....

they have to get it done by Feb 21 which is Thursday. Of course for all we know the Cowboys don't have any intention of franchising anyone, particularly Adams or Hamlin. If that's the case, then they still have enough time to work on re-signing Adams and Hamlin. Hopefully neither want to check out FA to find their value. Hope Cowboys get their re-signings or extentions done before Feb 29. Assume we can extend tenders to Canty and MBIII, if that the way they decide to go, at any time before Feb 29.

Man! I hope they don't franchise Flo. He just isn't worth 9 million against the cap in my opinion. People keep saying he is in the top 4-5 LT's in the league but I just don't see it. When he IS able to block someone, he stones them true, but when he doesn't (all too often) he gets beat badly and Tony is on the run for his life. Go back and look at how many sacks that Romo saved Flo by scrambling. We have really taken that aspect of Tony for granted. Flo gets beat regularly and when he isn't getting beat he is called for false start or holding. Why do you think we didn't lock him up before the end of the season last year? Just say no to franchising Flo. I would sign him for a reasonable price tho. :D

Franchising Flo or giving him a contract which isn't cap friendly is a big mistake. The 3 guys we need to re-sign are Hamlin, Barber and Canty. Let Flo test the market and if someone offers him crazy money let him take it.

I certainly think we should franchise Flo by the deadline.

You guys need to realize that this is a process.

Franchising Flo doesnt automatically guarantee were on the hook for 9 mil for 2008. Once he's tagged, he has to actually sign the franchise offer sheet to obligate Dallas. If he really wants a multiyear deal, he wont jump to sign it.

We can use the tag as a delaying tactic, keeping other parties out of the equation as we hammer out a fair 3-4 year deal.

Something else to consider. We are/will be a top SB contender
We may or may not realize this potential, but its their.

Legit SB contenders do not let legit 33 yr old PB starting LT's walk in FA.
UNLESS......the salary cap absolutely dictates it.
