If Flournoy has a dynamic season, does it affect Pickens being here long term?

Do you think we will ever know WHY we went to him and said we're not doing a long term deal, like what's the real reason
Fans will make up their own reasons. And repeat them over and over until they get a following.
We seen it on here before.

Pickens isn't going to be here "long term" unless we get rid of Lamb. So, enjoy your last season of GP. I think we draft a WR next year in round 1.

Most teams can’t pay two top wrs, because they don’t have two top wrs. Pickens is like 24 and elite. No way in hell we trade him.
There is a way and it happens all the time... I get what you're saying but it doesn't make fiscal sense to do so if they find a way to do it that's fine but most of CD lambs money is already pushed to the void years lots of dead cap ahead you can't do both contracts like that and it's all coming due so trying to keep two highly paid wide receivers at top 5 market money is what we're talking about There's a clear gap between Chase and Higgins just like there was with Brown and Smith They were not making top five market money together It doesn't fit you go young you turn your roster you take the trade value if you can get it...

Again this is not 2018 we're not being left without a top receiver You do it like some of the teens with blueprints you remember the term blueprint we use around here well the blueprint is team defense No top heavy single points of failure you remember that term we were talking about that would be Seattle and New England who were in the Super Bowl last year, Both of which only used one top receiver and then a nice group right behind them

Had a literally clean house they had JSN Metcalf and Lock it all at the same time and decided they were just going to go with JSN and some less expensive but good solid depth behind him that is all you need if you have a strong run game..

You need to save your resources for more important positions I'd rather them if they will and I don't know if they will allocate the money to a left tackle or another free agent defender..

IT Is a bigger need At the moment for the Dallas Cowboys they are not in a position to afford two receivers both making top five money at the same position..

So I think I answered your question yes I know the teams who have had them and paid them but that is not a trend that is an anomaly and yet it still doesn't Fit this narrative this narrative is too highly paid top five receivers making top five money at the same time on the same team has never happened I don't care how good you are most of those trade their assets..

In Kansas City traded Tyreke Hill who was in his prime and you can't even deny that because he has two of his better seasons with TUA, Literally had two career back to back seasons after he left Kansas City and Mahomes so explain why they got rid of Tyreek Hill for no real reason other than roster building and they nothing behind him no CD lamb they rolled with Hopkins and Juju Smith and a series of draft picks that were just average receivers..

Again explain to me why you would be worried about losing George Pickens instead of valuing how many draft assets you can get for him while you're already grooming Flo..

Get it it would be wonderful to keep him and I'm just telling you the perspective is it's probably not going to happen so why set to yourself up to be disappointed and for good reason you should not blame the front office for doing something most teams would do anyway.

I just feel lucky to have George Pickens for two years that's two seasons for a 3rd round pick that you're now gonna get a haul of draft picks for it So you get two seasons to watch George Pickens on this team and then you get your draft hall...

I'm not for or against either scenario I'm just telling you how it most likely is going to turn out...

“Again not sure why we have to keep talking about this Pickens”

You’re right, but pretty much a question. Something must be made of nothing this time of year.
It's more rhetorical because we have the answer You know what rhetorical means right it seems like a question but it's not necessary to answer it I wasn't asking a question it was confusion on why we keep seeing this when it has no pertinent value to 2026..

Once he signed the tag and we seen the league had no interest in trading for him at the moment and the Cowboys were not going to give him a long term deal which by the way we are 13 days away from the deadline that he will be a Dallas Cowboy this season and that's all that matters and there's no need to talk about it further..

We will talk about this next offseason anyway so why are we wasting space now? No that doesn't need an answer it's also rhetorical we know the answer this is a complete monumental waste of time on a subject that is now creeping up into the Prescott, Romo, Jerry Jones, and now GP Hot topics that always seem to have too many of them for no good reason it's like beating a dead horse it's already been over discussed It will never be resolved.

In order for Flo to have that type of. Season. It means one of the top 2 are injured.
For which you keep posting in other threads bout injuries.
That is the only reason he even shined last season that you need injuries in multiple games in order for a guy who's not going to get many targets 'cause he may be the number 3 wide receiver right now but he's like the 5th target option,

Always gonna be Lamb Pickens most likely Ferguson but you gotta add the tight end then you gotta feed the ball to Williams and others and then you might get around to Flo who's gonna still be spending time with others like Turpin they're gonna be packages..

So yes, you're correct he's never going to shine until we move one of these two guys or one of them is injured this year but the only way he'll really come on to the scene is when he becomes the WR2 most likely behind Lamb in 2027 along with the receiver WE draft that will compete with FLO...

I don't know of any team and I don't care if it's the greatest Show on turf that has enough offensive snaps that are be passing the football to get your 3rd wide receiver opportunities to show a career year like just keeps growing it just can't happen there's just no way other than injuries or you move one of them....

Exactly.
Also do not forget, they will use Turpin as a 3rd WR as well. As I think they forced him in the game plan too much last season. Probably to justify the contract they gave him.
Now they know what they may have in Flournoy, that can change.

I was a communications major. Asking me if I know what rhetorical means is akin to me asking you of you know what a condenser is.

As to the point, you know this what happens. In some cases I’d probably rather take another whack or two at the dead horse than read peoples ‘rankings’ or debate if Dak sucks or not lol.

Just the reality. It gets real very soon.

I don't care about your background I know what I meant when I wrote it it was rhetorical and didn't need an answer and I'm not doing the semantics argument with you again you try to the same way that stay in that Gray area with arguments that doesn't need to be argued over semantics..

the worst writer on this site has no room to talk down to anyone

I don't think they forced him in the game You need speed offense like his things that you can run what every team tries to run with whether it's reverses or lots of the motion type moving receivers behind the line of scrimmage he is very important because he was the only person that could really run those properly I say take more away from Lamb out of the run game but I think Turpin the only way he's going to be used less in that manner is it blue somehow steps up...

They didn't force it you have to be able to run those types of plays and you have to have the right players and he's the fastest guy on the team especially on offense and he can run those plays I don't think they forced it at all I think it's necessary.

They need someone to run the creative stuff, and it needs to not be lamb...

So, if anything, the only way Turpin gets pushed out is if blue steps up.. Another fast guy that in the end could take Turpin's job but I think you guys are a little hard on Turpin I believe he had the longest play from scrimmage last year He can catch the fall when needed but that is why he's a number three or a number 4 but he is the gadget guy he is the explosiveness you need on your offense.

Especially when you're TE was like averaging six yards a catch and fumbling a lot....

Guy said every playbook has it and you have to be able to run it You have to have someone explosive and dangerous back there to keep the defense honest and they use those type of plays to set up the longer plays from scrimmage, where they can fake some of those things a reverse double, reverse, the pitch outs. end arounds.

I'm sure Pickens and Lamb can run those, but I prefer them not to, and they are not as fast and quick as Turpin, people underestimate how fast he is and they're only down him because he had a few drops.

I’m going to bookmark this.

I’m figuring you do not realize how often you do exactly that around here.

Ill get back to your post as it is long. BUT, please dont talk to me about anythig the Chiefs do. It is very similar to how we used to hear about that great "Patriot way."

They both had or have 2 of the greatest QBs to have ever played the game. Using that as any example on how you should do things is comparing apples with oranges. The chiefs could trade away prime Tyreke, because they had Mahomes.
