Do you think he would be able to land another job as an offensive coordinator? Curious...because if not, what job would he get? QB Coach?

CouchScout once replied to me that he is a very well respected offensive mind according to his league sources. He would know better than me, I've not been a fan of his offense going back to when Sparano left. I just feel to my novice eye we have the more poorly designed plays, or over-tricked plays, and just poor timing of calls.

On a side note, I find it interesting, at least to my knowledge, that no one has ever tried to pry Wade Wilson from us. Curious if he would be able to land another gig in the same capacity.

Yes. It has been documented and confirmed that he is a respected individual amongst NFL organizations. If he were let go by Dallas there would certainly be some other team that sees the potential and gives him a chance. He might not get a HC gig immediately, but I would bet that he'd be some team's OC.

He'd probably get a job in PR. Spokesperson of some sort.

He's very good at saying a bunch of words that mean little. He could probably describe a Chia Pet using a 15 minute monologue.

Stacking good seeds on top of one another. Right kind of gardener.

Stuff like that.

The answer is NO. Who would hire Garrett based on his last few years as our OC? Garrett is overrated because of his Princeton Education. Any "competant" football organization can see that he is "Princeton Smart - Football Stupid". He may get a chance as a QB or WR Coach.

He probably would get an OC job, but thats more because he is a master BSer than any sort of tangible skill or results.

Documented and confirmed?

I don't think a couple of people on the internet reiterating what one another thinks classifies as documentation or confirmation.

Not that I doubt he's well respected. His father has been working with the NFL since the Civil War so he's got some familiarity with the people in the NFL.

If he is well respected, it's not because of his accomplishments. More likely because he seems like a nice person. Not to mention the whole Princeton angle.

On one of the NFLNs Top 10 list, Jason is on there for his T-Day game.

One of the guy says what seems to be the common assumption now.

"What we knew about Jason Garrett was that he went to Princeton, therefore we all assumed he was smart".

He most likely would. Maybe not right away, but in a year or two. It would probably be for a really bad team though.

I'm sure he could get another OC job. I doubt he'll ever be a HC again.

Yeah I'm sure he would get an OC job on some bad team. Offensive coordinator is probably the hardest job to hang onto in the NFL, based off of his play calling in the Wade era he'd get a job.

You make a good point.

Being respected is always nice, but I can't glean much from that fact unless I have some context. For instance, how many current head coaches aren't respected around the league? If everyone is respected, it doesn't mean a whole heck of a lot that Garrett is respected.

I doubt he will land another head coaching job ever. He is more attuned towards a QB coach or possibly an OC position once again. Even as an OC he did a terrible job so I doubt that he will ever land a head coaching position again.

Its too bad that he didn't learn more about offenses. We should have had Peyton as coach and him doing the OC duties, so he can learn more. So far, he is just to inexperienced to be the head coach at this time and really doesn't deserve the position that his in.

I place him among the Dave Campos and Mike Zimmers of the NFL.

He'd get hired almost immediately. The league knows the entire problem in Dallas is Jerry.

The league doesn't know that because it's not true...

Aside from injuries, do the Cowboys have any problems that Jerry doesn't have control over?

Again, Jerry isnt the one calling 1st down qb sneaks and icing his own kicker.

I fully agree. Jerry gave Garrett the "keys to a nice sports car". Garrett does not know how to drive a "sports car" for crap. I only blame Jerry for his poor choice in selecting Garrett. The Talent provided by Jerry should not have translated to a inconsistent and average team. This is a playoff caliber team. We need a better driver.
