Would he have been worth a late 2nd round pick?

I know the natural reaction from a lot of people was to cut his *** right now. And that was mine as well when I heard the news yesterday.

I hold out no more kind of polyanna hope that he'll be able to kick this and have any kind of decent career with us or in the NFL. But all indications are that he's been working out with the strength staff and looks to be in great shape. He's only 6 games away and this might be the closest he'll ever get to seeing an NFL field in life ever.

I say unlike last time when he dropped his appeal that the Cowboys should push for him to appeal through every single avenue available to him. Pulling BS out of their *** and shamelessly through every other dark, filth cranny.

So I hypothesize: The one thing we can agree this team is deficient in right now is the pass rush. I see no other weaknesses if Lee and Durant stay healthy and Mo and Church come back by the playoffs. So if Randy Gregory gets back in game shape with the last 2 games of the season and gives you legit top 10 player pass rush through a superbowl run, would he have been worth a 2nd round pick?

Another wasted second round pick, what is he's going to appeal, I was smoking weed because I was still suspended from the last dozen times I failed drug tests....

Could it be that the weed never left his system at the time of his repeat test ? Do they do a quantitative analysis as opposed to a qualitative analysis? (meaning do they gauge how much weed was in his system)? I like to think this is all a bad dream or some error was made.

There is a small amount they will allow in your system if I am not mistaken.

If Gregory can play this year while appealing his suspension as long as possible then I absolutely let him come back and play. What do you have to lose? You get a possible pass rusher for a Super Bowl run. Or you find out he is getting pushed all over the field and then you walk away. He will be lost all of next season anyway...and maybe forever...

Let him play. He isn't a personality problem or a locker room cancer. Maybe playing at a high level will inspire him in the future to beat his demons.

What you lose is a roster spot of someone who deserves it more. I'd take him if I thought he could make an impact. Don't believe he would.

We have guys who never see the field and never will see the field taking up poster spots.
Deserve it more? The player who contributes deserve it more.
You and I can't say if he will make an impact. He has been working out with the team and they know better than we do. If they think he can contribute than I want him contributing.

DLaw has been back for 4 games now, and I am still waiting to see his presence in the pass rush game.
So why does anyone think Gregory will make an impact after missing 14 games. And it's not because they both would be on the field. If he is at all.

You would think DLaw would either get more pressure and sacks, or get the attention to free up Crawford or someone else. That hasn't happened.
Most of our sacks seem to come from stunts, or a few coverage sacks, but can that happen without Mo and Barry as much. That remains to be seen.

I keep waiting for a consistent pass rush...guess we will have to wait until next year. Hope the secondary continues to play well for the next 4 or 5 weeks.

Anyway, I was not counting on Gregory this year, and still won't. I won't next year either. Time to move on.

It's been out of his system for plenty of time if he truly wasn't smoking. It takes 30 to 45 days for it to be fully gone, even for the heaviest smokers. If he has failed another test at this point it is purely because he never stopped or picked it up again.

I'm seeing 80 days for heavy smokers urine or hair follicle. Blood tests only recent usage. Dammm!!!; he couldn't stay clean for 3 months given what was to be given to him.

THC can be detected for over a year depending of usage*, but I'm sure they have pretty regimented threshold levels that they test for, in other words, they test for current use.

CIA financial analyst test stipulates 1.5 years of non-usage, the guy said they could detect at that level (hair test, I would assume).

A simple UA is going to be clear by 30-45 days for the majority of people. Outside of trace amounts, he should have passed a UA long ago. Hair folicle can be tested for a lot longer but I doubt that's what they are using.
