can i burn it to a cd aswell as put it on my ipod. How do i do this if so?

I don't think the new versions of I-Tunes allows exporting to mp3 once you purchased from the Itunes store.

In the past you could buy from the store and then convert it to MP3 and then convert that to WAV so that any stereo could play it.

I would just go buy the CD from the store and convert that to MP3 and then place those on the IPOD. Not the other way around. It's doable but its a HUGE technical headache.

Piece o'cake.

Buy your album from iTunes. Copy to iPod. Make new playlist of album tracks. Choose "Burn playlist to Disk" from File menu (at least that's where it is on a Mac).

Then, if for some reason you need mp3s of tracks off said album, you can rip back into iTunes from CD you just made. Voila, no-DRM mp3s.

They're making it inconvenient, but not impossible, to remove the DRM so that it acts as some small impediment to the "record labels are rich so I'm entitled to steal from them" crowd without strangling people who just want a little flexibility in how they use their purchased tunes.

yah it would. I had a "lawer for college kids" come in to my school (elgin.edu) ECC and was talking about how *******/facebook effect us and someone asked about the music downloads. He explained the RIAA's methods. 1 song you download in their eyes costs them a whole cd sale so 1 song =15 dollars...

2000 songs = 30,000 dollars...on top of your 250,000 fee or what ever that big FBI fee is

Yeah.

[rant] Never mind paying the recording engineers, the guy who designed the album art, the chick who answers the phone at the record company, and so on, plus the musician who—regardless of how much money he/she already has—still deserves to get paid for long hours getting all of that just right so you can rock out and be entertained.

Just because the technology makes stealing easier doesn't make it any less shady. It does NOT make you some kind of modern-day Robin Hood. You're that 13-year-old shoplifter at the mall who has enough money to pay for the item in his pocket.

I've done studio session work, and I've designed album art, so this issue is admittedly personal for me. I am so offended by the attitude that says somebody can just steal the product of my hard work with no regard at all for my livelihood—just because it's easy and they don't feel like spending the pittance it takes to do right by another human being. Geez. [/rant]

I think the music industry mongrels caused a lot of that when they thumbed their nose at the original napster. When Napster lost the law suit and tried to make it where it would have been a pay for song sites Sony, Warner and so forth through thumbed their nose at the people. Failing to realize the changing of technology and the culture behind it. They then created the under ground that now exist. At one time people where like yea ok I would pay to download songs from Napster that changed with a big middle finger was given to there customers.

I am not saying it is right I am just saying the greedy guys up top overplayed their hand and it came back to bite them in the arse. Despite the lawsuits the music is still being taken from torrents which is real hard to track. They are still one step ahead of the Music Industry and I blame them for part of the problem.

Then lets not even get into the different non compatible DRM they have out there that cause lots of confusion for customers making it even more annoying.
