here is what MANY people do not realize. If Romo plays like some of these other 'elite' QBs play from time to time...we would get beat by 30. Not sure how this team got constructed to the point where it is Romo or bust. But the reality is our special teams do nothing....we get tons of penalties...our defense does not create turnovers...Romo NEVER has a short field to work with....so he HAS to put up monster numbers for us to even have a CHANCE to win!aikemirv;3643598 said:don't throw those kind of int's again, I think we should all remember this weekend.
And by the way, if Romo had a game like Brees or Favre did last night, he would be belittled by the media so hard it would make your head spin!!

I agree. But the short field is not ALWAYS Romo's fault. When the kickoff coverage let's a guy return the ball to the 1...that ain't on Romo. When a play is designed to be a three step drop and the LT is supposed to block down the prevent the DL from tipping the ball...that ain't in Romo. When the WRs momentum is STOPPED and the team continues to force a fumble and the ball pops loose setting up a short field...that ain't on Romo...when the WR runs through a zone instead of sitting down in a hole....thus the ball "appears" to be behind him, gets tipped and picked off..that ain't on Romo. Ain't to many QBs in the NFL asked to do what Romo does. And Romo is NOT an elite QB. He is very good. But give him and OL that he does not have to bail out every play...and a consistent solid running game...and Romo will put up a MVP performance. Again...the fact that Romo plays as well as he does is often why Dallas is IN games!AmericasTeam31;3643603 said:He may never get a short field to work with, but that doesn't excuse him giving our opposition short fields week in and week out either...
aikemirv;3643609 said:Nope it doesn't but don't act like he is the only elite Qb that does it because he is not. It happens every week to the "elite" QB's
AmericasTeam31;3643618 said:I know he's not... but all week the knock on the defense has been that they don't get turnovers and no one is helping out the offense. The reality is that NO ONE is helping the defense... Given up 40+ points so far on turnovers and special teams.... Sure they need to create more turnovers too, but you can't turn a blind eye to our offensive issues first...

aikemirv;3643641 said:Sure they can. One has nothing to do with the other. The fact of the matter is, is that even though our D is solid, they DO NOT go for the ball like I see other teams do. They don't try to punch it out as they tackle and that IS why we don't get turnovers.
We don't have many more turnovers thatn other top teams, we just don't get any!
