don't throw those kind of int's again, I think we should all remember this weekend.

And by the way, if Romo had a game like Brees or Favre did last night, he would be belittled by the media so hard it would make your head spin!!

here is what MANY people do not realize. If Romo plays like some of these other 'elite' QBs play from time to time...we would get beat by 30. Not sure how this team got constructed to the point where it is Romo or bust. But the reality is our special teams do nothing....we get tons of penalties...our defense does not create turnovers...Romo NEVER has a short field to work with....so he HAS to put up monster numbers for us to even have a CHANCE to win!

They finally admitted on EPSN last night that Rogers isn't playing well. I was shocked. Brees has been possibly the worst QB in the league this season outside of Favre but still nothing said about him though. Every week they just say it was "rough". :laugh2:

He may never get a short field to work with, but that doesn't excuse him giving our opposition short fields week in and week out either...

Nope it doesn't but don't act like he is the only elite Qb that does it because he is not. It happens every week to the "elite" QB's

Pretty much. It went right over his head because he just had to bash Romo.

But, but, that was THE GOD of the NFL.. Breet Farve... What a legend!!..

I swear, that guy still makes rook mistakes and everyone just sees him as he can do no wrong. I am sick of these announcers. Gruden is the worst.

If that were Romo? yes, most DEFINATELY this forum would be in a frenzy and the media would be all over it.

I can't believe the Vikings are still starting this guy. They have nobody better then a broken down old man?

Wait, ... That's a good thing. KEEP STARTING HIM!

I agree. But the short field is not ALWAYS Romo's fault. When the kickoff coverage let's a guy return the ball to the 1...that ain't on Romo. When a play is designed to be a three step drop and the LT is supposed to block down the prevent the DL from tipping the ball...that ain't in Romo. When the WRs momentum is STOPPED and the team continues to force a fumble and the ball pops loose setting up a short field...that ain't on Romo...when the WR runs through a zone instead of sitting down in a hole....thus the ball "appears" to be behind him, gets tipped and picked off..that ain't on Romo. Ain't to many QBs in the NFL asked to do what Romo does. And Romo is NOT an elite QB. He is very good. But give him and OL that he does not have to bail out every play...and a consistent solid running game...and Romo will put up a MVP performance. Again...the fact that Romo plays as well as he does is often why Dallas is IN games!

I know he's not... but all week the knock on the defense has been that they don't get turnovers and no one is helping out the offense. The reality is that NO ONE is helping the defense... Given up 40+ points so far on turnovers and special teams.... Sure they need to create more turnovers too, but you can't turn a blind eye to our offensive issues first...

O line. Safeties. that is where our team weak points are.

As long as you ignore the elephant in the closet.

Again, the point of this thread is not to say Romo's been flawless this season.

Point taken, it's on the offense as a whole. But the defense can't be faulted for "not creating enough turnovers" until the offense it faulted for "too many turnovers."

Sure they can. One has nothing to do with the other. The fact of the matter is, is that even though our D is solid, they DO NOT go for the ball like I see other teams do. They don't try to punch it out as they tackle and that IS why we don't get turnovers.

We don't have many more turnovers thatn other top teams, we just don't get any!

Unrelated in the sense that they don't coincide with each other on the field. But as a fan, how can one be ignored and one be so focused on? Everyone is bringing this up... "oh, well the offense never gets a short field." How about the defense (whether a result of the offense or special teams) "never" gets a full field... I've posted this before, but in the last two games the defense has had 8 drives start on our side of midfield!

Not really a woe is us. I made this thread really complaining about people on this board but also including the media I guess.

But basically what you are saying is that turnovers are acceptable as long as we get some back in return...? It's all about turnover margin. If we protect the ball on offense, it doesn't matter how many turnovers we get on defense. So if we have three turnovers on offense and get three on defense, we are no better than if we give up none and get none... From an offensive players perspective, you can't complain about not getting any turnovers from your defense until you stop turning the ball over yourselves... and vise versa...

The defense never cause any turnovers. So, it is hard to judge.

No turnover is good on offense. Not one.

Sure, the offense isn't doing their job on offense.

The defense isn't doing the job of getting turnovers and helping a struggling offense.
