With no collective bargaining agreement this year. (At least not yet)

I would release both Barber and Roy Williams. Both players aren't living up to their contracts and now would be a good time to recoup that money by releasing them.

No teams in there right mind would trade for these two players with their current contracts. The team would be better off spending the money elsewhere.

Huh?

Based on the results from yesterday, Marion Barber and Roy Williams are the least of our problems.

The Offensive Line has to be a priority but it is one of the hardest unit to rebuild.

No arguments here. Barber can still be useful if was used as a closer like he used to be. I will never understand why JG try's to force the ball to him when he is the third best RB on the roster. If it is just to keep him from pouting then he needs to go. RW has potential however I think Tuna's quote on potential comes into play here. If they can be cut without salary cap ramifications then it is a good time to do it.

Yeah. The biggest gamble with the highest payoff would be moving Gurode to LG and either signing or drafting a very intelligent Center who excells in calling blocking. Gurode is a steamroller and never gets to steam roll. He also probably is the root of some of our mixed up line calls and piss poor shotgun snaps.

I agree they weren't our so called MAIN PROBLEM yesterday but they still aren't worth the money they are getting paid.

I would love to overhaul the O-line in one season but it won't happen. We don't have any players on our current roster that can just step in and take over. By freeing up money now we can at least build for the future.

Except that he sucked when we tried to make a guard out of him.

I don't remember it that way. I remember the he won the competition for the Center position.

If I remember correctly, Yearger is correct that Gurode struggled at Guard.

In fact, didn't he play Center at Colorado?

Regardless, I remember when he was moved to Center, Bill Parcells was praised because Andre Gurode played so well.

Before Parcells was hired Gurode was playing LG and he was terrible. It didn't help he had Torrin Tucker playing next to him (Flo was out with a knee injury). When Parcells came in he moved him to center and he's been there every since and been to multiple Pro Bowls (for whatever that is worth).

All I remember hearing is what a road grader he was at guard and how awesome he was at opening holes in the runnning game. If he had any struggles, it was pass protection, at that time.

He was put into the Center competition because we didn't have a Center and he won because he was the best option and he did play some Center in college. I also remember how he struggled with line calls, especially early on.

I say we get a franchise Center and see if he can still run block like he used to. We know he is a decent pass protector now.

I remeber him being pretty bad at guard and pretty darn good at center why fix center when it doesnt need to be???? And to say hes making the wrong line calls how in the world would you know that? Yea he may be dumb and it might have taken him a while to get the calls down but i would hope that after all these years he can make the line calls. i dont hear anybody complaining about the line calls. So just leave center alone. I think

The only problem I had with Gurode yesterday was him not snapping the ball when Minn jumped.

What we need on the OL is a LG upgrade, IMO, and one more quality OT.
