I would plaster the locker room with poster-size newspaper clippings and quotes from draft pundits about how terrible our draft was.

I would make sure that I blew up (or emboldened) the individual names of our draftees and how we "reached" for them or left "better" talent on the table when we drafted them.

I would make sure that I created an environment that made the draftees feel like they were a total waste of time and eventual roster spot.

If this wouldn't create a canyon-sized chip on their shoulder and an angry attitude to go along with it, then the pundits were right!

or he would say its my fault, i will take the blame, the accountablity is with me,

dont think wade is too smart to do that, use the media and clippings to his advantage like say a jimmy johnson or tom landry or john madden were; they used the media;
like one time, a Commander fan sent a wreath to harvey martin, it fired martin up for the ball game in texas stadium, Martin had a outstanding game, and after the game he went over to the lockerroom of the Commanders and threw it back in their locker room. Jimmy Johnson would use the media all the time to send messages to the players. Or John Madden, like in an interview one time, about how al davis was the real head coach, madden used that to his advantage to the players, even at the raiders stadium because it was at sea level there would be leaks, and madden got blamed for using that to his advantage,

madden played the story to his advantage, dont think wade is too smart to use the media like that,to realize what he really could do

for example, the media told him about camp cupcake, he could have worked the players and blamed the media to the players, and let the players get mad at the media

or like the december decline the last 12 years in dallas, media tried to tell him that, he could have said, ok, im going to work you players, but what did he do, he let some of the players off when they should have been praticing, again, dont think wade is that smart to realize how he could use the media to his advantage;

Why plaster it around the locker room to single them out to their peers? Stupid...

The incoming rookies read the press clippings and have heard all the so called experts.

If anything, Wade and the coaching staff should remind them when they need to be pushed. Motivate them to get the last sprint in. Motivate them to push a little harder when they are exhausted. Remind them while they are lifting weights so they push through the pain.

I just don't get all these posts. Maybe I'm just projecting my own feelings on the matter, but when I was an athlete, I never played better when I had "motivation" from things like this, and I never observed anyone else playing better either. Sure, you might get angry, might hit a guy a little harder, or whatnot, but as you play more you learn that, to keep competitive, you have to channel that kind of energy on every play or else be left behind. And I was a looooong-*** way from being a professional ANYTHING athlete.

I can't imagine that these caliber of athletes need that kind of motivation - if they're the kind of guys who WOULD be motivated by it, they're probably putting it all out there to begin with. If they're the kind that is just playing for the paycheck, this isn't going to make them play any harder.

But again, maybe that's just me.

Wade is DC---- that is all

Wade is HC and is expected to win. If he and the team fail it is his job that is on the line.

If I'm Wade, I'd care less what the media,fans, and anyone else who doesn't like how I do business thinks.

His responsibility is to get his team ready to play, and in position to win, that's all he should care about.

I agree. It should be about results not style I don't expect any coach to be a carbon copy of any other coach. His job is to win if he fails to do this then we need to move on but I think Wade like any coach deserve the full opportunity to do the job 3 years minimum

If the Cowboys are as high on these players as they are saying, then they should be expecting 8-11 of them making the team. You don't pass up the kind of talent the Cowboys passed up without expecting something BIG in return.

So, yes, there should be something extra put on these guys, which should be good for competition all around. The fact that you got drafted and others didn't says a lot. I don't think the draftees would be nearly concerned about being "singled out" as they would be about proving themselves to the Cowboys and to the rest of the NFL that they belong here.

Say, I think the players who were drafted know what a sweet deal they are into.
They are legitimate 4th rounder and deeper kind of players who form the mediocre core of the NCAA.
They know to be smart and give it there all.
OK, that kid from Western Illionois was it? He referred to himself as a great player and that roboto McGee from A&M had himself in the 1st or second round. In or after the third round he got discustipated and left his abode and then got a call from the Cowboys. He said he was relieved. Well, duh!

Enjoy it, fellas. You have been drafted by the most glamorous team in the universe and you lucked out.

The Clown Wade Phillips, king of mediocrity, doesn't have to motivate you because ah think you already are so good luck to you and eat right and stuff.
