If it was still the early nineties would Dak or Mahomes be playing in the NFL?

Let me see, today's QB's faster, stronger, better dressers; I would give them the nod.
In reality, if you are an NFL QB, it would not matter the era. Each athlete adapts to current level of play.
This.. People always lose me with the "So and so couldn't play in this era or that" noise. The creme rises. Period. The best players from yesteryear would figure out a way to be the best players now and vice versa. That's just how competitive fire, dedication, drive and determination work. Those traits translate across any era and pretty much an endeavor. Yes it would look different.. but in the end it would still look like greatness.

I don’t. I’m asking you how do you flop?
Flop for unnecessary roughness penalties. See the playoff game against the Texans and the AFCG against the Bengals. Flopped after getting touched a step out of bounds, set up a FG to go to the SB. Wouldnt have got flagged in the 90s. He does thar constantly asking for flags.

And his game wouldn’t translate? His arm and accuracy?

A lot of his game is scrambling and picking up yards with players afraid to touch him in fear of getting a penalty. I don’t think he is as good without the protection of current rules.

Steve Young was more athletic, more accurate and had a slightly worse arm. He had a tough time staying healthy. Imagine him in today’s game.

Mahomes isn’t a scrambler though. He doesn’t take unnecessary hits

Back then the NFL was still real football. Quarterbacks had to be willing to take a hit while standing in and delivering a perfect pass that often made the difference in the game(s).
Not just Dak or Mahomes; would Lamar Jackson, Bryce Young, Jalen Hurts or any of the more mobile quarterbacks in today's game be playing still?
Would they even have been drafted?
In the NFL of the early nineties and before, the physical toll playing quarterback took on players caused teams to shy away from smaller guys because their mobility would disappear as the hits they took began to take their toll on them.
Nowadays the NFL penalizes any player who gets too physical when tackling a quarterback so much that they are basically playing touch football.
So why are quarterbacks still considered the highest valued player on a team?
Let's face it; the quarterback is now the easiest position to play in the NFL.
I don't agree with you...but I will say the beating Aikman took from the Eagles I believe in his rookie year might have been the worst one I have ever seen a QB take.

He makes a lot of his plays scrambling. Is he a running QB like Vick or Lamar Jackson? No. But he does scramble a lot and makes a lot of his big plays scrambling. He doesn't take unnecessary hits because the rules protect him like they didn't protect QBs in the 90s.

Those guys were warriors.
They played the position and took the hits.
They weren't wearing skirts.
That is the rule changes and not the players. Owners who never played the game or never played at all 4 levels, make the rules. So you are what you are.
